News of the Day

The opening celebration at the Tourist Park was held with Sledge Wilson and his orchestra.

"Tip" Alexander, 85 year old Confederate Veteran of Cuero, S. Winifree and John Neill of Yoakum let the Tom-Tom parade in a Gardner sport roadster, followed by 37 floats.

Judge J.S. Schrimscher, celebrated his 63rd birthday during the 2nd annual Tom-Tom.

Jack P. clark graduated from Texas A & M June 4.

Calvin Turbville, Jr., student of Texas University, left Sunday for New York City, where he will be ___ a tryout in voice.

Weddings

Myrtle Chandler and Harty Camp were united in marriage Saturday. Miss Chandler is a graduate nurse of the Huth Memorial Hospital.

Ruby Karl and Dewey Henry were united Saturday in Halletsville.

Births

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hillman are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy, Carl Jr., at the hospital Saturday.

Deaths

Mrs. Emma Josephine Barnes, 73, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chase Rhodes, Friday night.
