Mount Joy Tabernacle Homecoming was held Sunday, May 4, 2008. Contact the Delta County Library for The Cooper Review News Article, "Mt. Joy Homecoming Held," published Thursday, May 15, 2008, page 4. Next year's homecoming will be held May 3, 2009.
7 August 2005 Charleston Homecoming
The Charleston Homecoming is held the first Sunday in August every year in Charleston, Texas. Many from far and wide, return to Charleston every year to see their family and friends. This year the reunion will be held on August 7, 2005 at the East Delta Community Center. As you drive east, from Cooper, Texas on Highway 395, enter into Charleston & the building will be on the south side of the road. If you have driven to the East Delta Baptist Church, you have gone to far.
Folks will start gathering around 10:30 A.M.. Lunch will be served at Noon.

Paris, Texas. April 30. — A fire occurred last night at Charleston, Delta County, ten miles east of Cooper, resulting in the burning of all the business houses on the east side of the square. H. C. Click's dry goods store, a grocery store, a barber shop, a pool hall and a meat market were burned.

Four Stores Destroyed by Fire in Charleston

Paris, Texas, Dec. 8. — Fire at Charleston, Delta County, ten miles east of Cooper, at an early hour Monday morning burned all the places of business on the south side of the square, including J. F. Wood's drug store, J. L. Oliver's grocery store in which the postoffice was located, W. L. Scott, dry goods and groceries and a vacant store building belonging to W. S. Oats. Wood and Scott each carried a considerable stock.
