In 1904, no addresses were located on the South Colorado Street side of this block.  The dwelling at what would become 117 East Walnut Street had what was probably a stable at the rear of the lot.

"In 1929,

"Ozro Groves, and his wife Frieda, were residing at 117 East Walnut Street, Apartment 1.

"Charles S. Eyster, and his wife Mildred, were residing at 117 East Walnut Street, Apartment 2.  He was a telephone operator for Santa Fe Railway.

"Gelwick W. Omohundro, and his wife Margaret were residing at 117 East Walnut Street, Apartment 3.  He was a bookkeeper for Mitchell and Groves.

"Burt H. Collins was residing at 117 East Walnut Street, Apartment 4.  He was an oilman.

"Zoe D. Hayworth, widow of George Hayworth, was residing at 117 East Walnut Street, Apartment 5.  She was a public stenographer, with an office located in the lobby of the Coleman Office Building."  (Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)
