CCMC Auxiliary Tour of Homes
"The home of Raye King (301 Texas Street) is included on Coleman
County Medical Center Auxiliary's Tour of Homes scheduled for Sunday, December
3. Loyd and Raye King purchased their home and acreage from the Birdwell
family in 1966. The house was built in 1961. Additions to the
house include bedroom, bath, office, sewing room and a front porch, but
the rest of the house has remained the same. The home is individually
the owner's personality with some antiques bought and inherited, furniture
from Old Mexico, and original paintings and accessories that are from areas
that are of special interest. Ranch heritage is seen throughout the
house. Most Christmas decorations are made by the owner, or are originals
from various sources. This home was purchased because it was "out
in the country" where there is an overview of land and to the east where,
on every clear day, there is a wonderful sunrise to see. A collection
of Nativity sets will be on display throughout the house." (The
Coleman Chronicle and Democrat - Voice, November 30, 2000, page 1.) |
