"In 1929, the Coleman
Chamber of Commerce was located at 204 West Pecan Street. W.
C. Woodward was the president; W. A. Robertson, the vice-president; E.
C. Edens, the treasurer; Sim O'Neal, the secretary; and Miss Juanita Fowler,
the office secretary. Their telephone number was 683.
"This was also the contact place for the Coleman Band. V. Rawlins Gilliland was the director. "At the Chamber of Commerce was also the office for the Coleman Welfare League. R. G. Hollingworth was the president; Mrs. Leila Johnson, secretary; C. S. Polk, treasurer; Mrs. J. H. Nolan, advisor. The Coleman Welfare League Home was located at 605 San Saba Street, with Mrs. Eula Robinson as the matron.
