There was no dwelling located on this site prior to a time between 1923 and 1930.
In 1923 the dwelling was located in the center of this quarter of this
block. Sometime between 1923 and 1930, it appears that the porches of
the dwelling at 403 West College Avenue were
removed, and the house moved to the west side of the lot. Additions
were made to the east and south sides of the dwelling
and a small porch added to the north side. After the dwelling was moved, a two story tile
(or brick) auto garage was located at the rear of 403 West College Avenue.
Also, by 1930 a small
additional house was built on the south side of this quarter of the
block. On the 1930 and 1948 maps, this dwelling is shown with an
address of 308
South Frio Street. I think this dwelling was originally a
servant's house for 403 West College Avenue, but was probably later
used as a small rental property.

This photograph of the small dwelling that was located at 308 South Frio Street, was taken as an insurance picture for Allen & Allen Insurance Agency by Hugh Capps Studio
on January 25, 1950. The dwelling was just captured on the edge
of the negative. In the background, to the left is the north side
of the dwelling located at 310 South Frio Street.
