1927
W. C. Ratjen launched into the grocery business in July 1927.
He was located at 415
Live Oak Street at that time and his business was known as the High
School Grocery. He operated at this location for the seven
years following. In 1934 he moved to his present location and opened
one of the finest grocery stores in the city. His firm is a member
of the Red & White stores which makes it possible for
him to give you every advantage of savings, that the Red & White
system of merchandising can possibly offer you. He maintains a complete
stock of staple and fancy groceries at all times.
The meat department has home-killed meats daily and also carries cured
meats from the leading packing houses of the country. The vegetable
department is stocked fresh daily and affords you the choicest in vegetables
at all times. Having all these departments in the same store permits
you to make a single task of your household shopping.
You are always assured of prompt and courteous service at Mr. Ratjen’s
Red & White Grocery. His ever increasing popularity
is conclusive proof of his success in the grocery business. He thanks
his many friends for their past patronage and hopes to have the pleasure
of serving you continuously.
