The Food Processing Training Center, located at 102 Concho Street, will
close Friday, September 10. The reasons for closing are that the
fruit and vegetable canning season is almost over, and also the money
for operation of the Food Production Program for the coming year has
not been made available to the public schools yet.
It is likely that the Food Processing Training Center will be able to
reopen later on this fall and feature meat canning, especially beef, if
there isenough demand for meat canning.
This program has been sponsored by the Vocational - Agriculture
department of the Coleman High School. Mrs. Eirys Larance has
been the instructor.
The co-operation of the Chamber of Commerce, the County Home
Demonstration agent, the REA, the Red Cross, the City of Coleman and
the Southwestern States Telephone Company ... E. W. Scott,
teacher of vocational - agriculture and supervisor of the canning
center.
