Change in Ownership For Rolling Hills Lodge

The board of directors of Convalescent Nursing Centers of America, Inc. has given final approval to a series of nursing home acquisitions and a new building program in Texas totaling $2,646,333, which completes the initial phase of a multimillion dollar expansion program.   Included in the acquisition is Rolling Hills Lodge in Coleman, and it is announced there will be no change in personnel or operation at the facility.

Following the board meeting Walter H. Singleton, president and board chairman, announced the organization’s most recent acquisition, which is the purchase of three nursing homes near Abilene.  The purchase involves 176 beds at a total price of $616,000.  In addition, on December 29 the company opened a new 80-bed nursing center at Lamesa, Texas, where it owns a second, existing facility.  The acquisitions were made within the last 60 days, Singleton said, and include 10 existing nursing centers in Texas with a total of 628 beds and a 106-bed facility now under construction at White Settlement.  Also agreements were signed to build three additional nursing centers with a combined total of 360 beds.  Convalescent Nursing Centers of America also operates seven nursing centers in Arkansas with a combined total of 593 beds.  Singleton said that none of the facilities in either state is more than five years old, and that many are new.  All incorporate the most modern equipment for quality nursing care, including rehabilitation therapy facilities, and all except one are classified, by state authorities as skilled nursing homes, he said.

Headquartered in Little Rock, CNCA was formed in August 1968, from five subsidiary companies previously operated by Singleton and his wife, Mrs. Sharline W. Singleton, who is secretary-treasurer of the parent company.  The existing nursing centers in Texas are located at Electra, Olney, Anson, Coleman, Clyde, Rotan, Haskell, Snyder and Lamesa.  CNCA nursing centers in Arkansas are at Lake Village, El Dorado, McGehee, Monticello, Crossett and Camden, where the company operates two centers.

Sometime after this purchase, the name of the Rolling Hills Lodge was changed to Leisure Lodge Nursing Home.
