The 1929 Coleman City Directory shows no address for 512 or 516 South Commercial Avenue.
The 1930 and 1948 maps show a vacant lot at what would later become 516 South Commercial Avenue. After the Coleman Mutual Building was constructed, the north part was addressed as 512 South Commercial Avenue, and the south part was addressed as 516 South Commercial Avenue. Coleman Mutual Building - The Coleman Mutual Insurance Company will celebrate its 30th anniversary Thursday with anopen house for its new office building in Coleman, built and owned by Sam T. Cobb, Sr., president and founder of the company.
"In 1962, Coleman Life Insurance Company was located at 512 South Commercial Avenue. Sam T. Cobb was the president, Richard R. Lee was the vice-president - secretary and Sam T. Cobb, Jr. was the vice president - treasurer (Fort Worth). Their telephone number was 625-4176. Cross Pharmacy was located at 516 South Commercial Avenue. It was owned by Coe Cross. Their telephone number was 625-2631." (Polk's - Coleman City Directory, 1962.)
