The Coleman Hotel and associated businesses "In 1929, the Coleman Hotel was located on South Commercial Avenue, southeast corner of College Avenue. Their telephone number was 317. (No address is given, but it would have to be 301 South Commercial Avenue, as 303 South Commercial Avenue is the address of the Coleman Hotel Barber Shop.) Tilden H. Edwards was the manager of the Coleman Hotel at that time. He and his wife Margaret were residing at the Coleman Hotel. Lennie Deaver (colored) was a bellboy at the Coleman Hotel, but with no residence address shown. Lillie Kinchie (colored) was a maid at the Coleman Hotel, but with no residence address shown. Rooming at the Coleman Hotel were C. E. Jordan, who dealt in oil leases; and John S. Simpson, part owner of Simpson, White and Pinkerton, located at 200 1/2 South Commercial Avenue. "Coulson Drug Store No. 2 was located at 301 South Commercial Avenue. It was owned by W. J. Coulson, C. S. Polk, and L. S. White. (See 104 South Commercial Avenue for more information.) "The Coleman Coffee Shop was also located here at the southeast corner of College Avenue. G. D. Phillips and J. E. Simms were the owners.
