In 1979, when the building, which was located at Block 7, lots 8 and
9 of the Original Townsite of Coleman and was known as 216
South Commercial Avenue, was remodeled into The Man's Shop,
a new pink brick front was added to the front (east) side and arched window
and door openings added to create a symetrical look. A copper covering
was place over the old window openings. On the south side, a separate
space of about 10 feet by 30 feet was created. This new space to
the south was addressed as 216 1/2 South Commercial Avenue.
Merle Norman Cosmetics first occupied 216 1/2 South Commercial
Avenue. In later years, it was occupied by a tanning salon, a hearing
aid company, a trophy shop and again by Merle Norman Cosmetics.
In February 2006, Merle Norman Cosmetics moved to their
new location at ? South Commercial Avenue, and Countryside Satellite
moved into 216 1/2 Commercial Avenue. |

new location in downtown Coleman with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday
morning. Owners Ralph and Michelle Howell have been in business since
August 2005, and had operated the business in Valera until the recent move
to 216 1/2 Commercial Avenue. Countryside Satellite is a Dish Network
