717 West College Avenue
Coleman, Texas

Legal Description:

The date of the building of the Woodward Home is not know at this time.  Most of the houses located on far West College were built between 1905 and 1915.  1910 and 1920 federal census records show Jesse O. Woodward was living at this address on College by 1910.  The 1920 census   The 1916 map is the first map showing this part of Coleman. The 1916 map shows the address as 711 West College Avenue, but by 1923 it was know as 717 West College Avenue.  Note the small dwelling to the southwest of the main house, addressed as 717 1/2 West College Avenue, which was probably a servant's house.
