A map drawn in August 1904 shows a vacant lot at what was to become 192 West College Avenue, then 706 West College Avenue, then 710 West College Avenue.


"On October 7 1904, a deed is shown transferring Lot 10, Block 23 of Clow's First Addition from J. P. Sutphen, of Taylor County, to W. E. Gideon." (County Clerk's Office, Coleman County, Texas Deed Record Book 56, page 157.)

In 1909 the address of the dwelling that was to become 710 West College Avenue was known as 192 West College Avenue, and by 1916 it had changed to 706 West College Avenue.

"In 1929, James B. Hough, and his wife Ella, were residing at 710 West College Avenue.  He was an embalmer at J. E. Stevens Company.  Living at this address was Mrs. Esther Smith, a teacher.  Rooming at this address were Louis Acker, a student; and Miss Violet Durrett, a teacher." (Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)

The original 710 West College Avenue address was for only Lot 10 of Block 23 of Clow's First Addirtion, but sometime between 1923 and 1930, 20 feet of lot 9 was added to this address.

On the 1930 map, the two auto sheds on the northeast and northwest corners of the lot are given addresses of 710 1/4 West College Avenue and 710 1/2 West College Avenue.  These were possibly apartments.

An 20 foot wide alley runs north of this address, between West College Avenue and West Pecan Street.

Note the alternate (or earlier) address of 706 West College Avenue on the 1923 map.

Sometime between 1930 and 1948, the dwelling at 710 West College Avenue was replaced by the house currently located at this address in 2005.

"In June 2001, Andrew B. Thyen, and his wife Danielle L., purchased the property at 710 West College Avenue.  He was a physician."   (Coleman County Deed Book 703, page 678, dated June 1, 2001.)

"In 2004, Andrew B. and Danielle L. Thyen are shown as the owners of the property at 710 West College Avenue."  (Coleman County, Texas Tax Records.)
