Development of what would become 114-116 East College Avenue, shows in 1888 a vacant lot to the north and a smal dwelling to the south. By 1893, a small dwelling had been built toward the north end. By 1898, the dwelling had been enlarged, with porches added, and a shed or barn at the south end. By 1904 the dwelling had been reduced in size, and by 1909, the large dwelling built.
Between 1904 and 1909 the small frame house was removed and a larger frame house was built at what would become 114 East College Avenue.
After Perry Stobaugh built the
new building at 114 East College Avenue, the address was referred to as
114 - 116 East College Avenue.
"In 1929, the Holley Chevrolet Company, dealers in Chevrolet automobiles, was located at 114 - 116 East College Avenue. J. Robert Holley was the manager. They dealt in sales and service, tires, washing, greasing and repairing of automobiles. Their telephone number was 60. Barney N. Burlson was a salesman for Holley Chevrolet Company and resided 2 miles south of Coleman. " (Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)
