and his wife Lillie, were residing at 1204 Austin Street. They were
this owners of this dwelling. He was a dentist, with his office located
at 614 - 616 of the
Coleman Office Building (118 West Pecan Street), telephone number 67 - "special attention given to children's teeth." His residence telephone
number was 455. Also residing at this address were Charles Pollard,
and his wife Grace. He was a contractor, with his business also at
this address." (Coleman City Directory,
1929 - Hudspeth.) (Note:
The address of 1204 Austin Street is not given on the 1930 map or at
later times, but rather as 1116 Austin Street. I do not know if
it was given incorrectly in the 1929 directory, or if the 1116 Austin
Street address had not been assigned at this time.)
"In 1929, Lurnza B. Bassett (colored), and his wife Pearl (colored), were residing at 1204 Austin Street (Rear). He was a laborer. This dwelling was located at the rear of 1204 Austin Street."
