Trap School is shown as District #24 in 1904, even though earlier schools
existed in this area. Later in 1904, Trap School was redefined as
District #29 and covered about the same area as the Leaday
School District #29, which was created in 1906. This would make
it appear that the school district was first named Trap (or Trapp) after
the crossing on the Colorado River, but the name changed after the town
of Leaday was established.
