N. A. Jameson came to Coleman County in 1882, and bought 160 acres of land 6 miles west of Coleman.  Sometime in the 1890’s he helped build Success School about a mile east of his house.  He had 4 boys and 4 girls, each of them went to school at Success, until about 1912.

They wanted to move the school farther north, to be in the center of the districts so N. A. and some of his neighbors moved the one room school about a half-mile north to the Glen Cove Road.  The first location of Success was about 2 miles north of Bowen School.  In 1917, they voted to consolidate with Bowen School, which was located just south of Hords Creek on the John Pitts land (this building is still standing today in 1983).  After consolidation with Bowen, a new building was built on Hords creek about a mile from the old Bowen School.  This consolidation was called Bowen, which consolidated with Centennial in 1936.

The first teacher that I remember was Miss Eula Gibson, who taught about 1906; she gave me a pretty painted cup, which I still have today, when I was about 4 years old.  Other teachers were Winnie Gray (who later married Dr. Jack Gordon), Susie Smith, Mabel Kelly, and Allene Dibrell.
