[Editor’s note:  On April 11, 1900, a school district called Murdock School District #4 was created.  This district was apparently known as this until about 1904, when the Junction name is shown in the records.]

The community of Junction is four miles east of Coleman.  The first school in Junction was a frame building, where school was first held about 1901.  The land for the school was purchased in 1900 for $5.  In 1924, a three room brick building was built.  At one time, the school had eleven grades with an enrollment of 90.  In 1934, the high school consolidated with Coleman, with the grade school following in 1945.  At that time there were 15 pupils and Mrs. Jean Adkins was the last teacher.  The school building was later bought by W. Jones and remodeled for a clubhouse.  Then Wallace Adams bought it and tore it down and built a home out of the brick.  The old pump still stands on the property.
