Calvin C. Polk, age 79, of Coleman died Monday, November 1, 2004 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral services with Military Honors will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Talpa Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mr. Polk was born December 8, 1924 in Thurber, Texas, a son of William C. Polk and Irma Josephine Sullivan Polk. He grew up in the Thurber/Strawn area and attended school at Strawn. He served in the United States Navy, during World War II. He married Bonnie Lewis on December 5, 1955 in Lovington, New Mexico. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 30 years. He moved to Coleman three years ago. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Polk of Coleman; son, Joel Polk of Big Spring, sister, Modene Polk of Thurber, grandson, Zach Polk of Coleman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Charles McCulloch "Mac" Shore, 80, of Belton, formerly of Dallas and Coleman, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Ted Willis officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening at Stevens Funeral Home. Mr. Shore died Monday, November 1, 2004 in a Belton Nursing Home. Arrangements are being handled by Dossman Funeral Home in Belton and Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. He was born to Charles Hubert Shore and Annie McCulloch Shore on July 12, 1924 in Coleman. He worked as a bookkeeper for gun wholesalers. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Dallas, after moving his membership from Coleman. Funeral service for Barbra Kay Wisell, 80, of Brownwood will be 10:00 a.m. today (Thursday) at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. She died Monday, November 1, 2004 in Brownwood. She was born January 9, 1924, in Brownwood. She had lived in Brown County since 1928, moving here at the age of 12. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. On April 25, 1936, she was married to J. T. Kesler. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1971. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Drury and husband Donnie of Bangs, and Sharon Reed and husband Marion of San Antonio; and two sisters-in-law, Martha Thompson of Santa Anna and Jo Reta Thompson of San Angelo; five grandchildren; and seven grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leland Floyd Thompson and Norman Thompson; her parents, Dailey and Blaine Thompson; and a sister, Roylynn Neal. Linnie Bartlett, age 92, of Santa Anna, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at 1:22 p.m. at the Cross Country Nursing Home in Brownwood. Services were Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Jones and Rev. Bruce Hess officiating. Interment followed at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Linnie was born July 21, 1912 in Blanket, Texas to the late A. M. and Georgia Hicks Routh. She had been a resident of Santa Anna since 1946 where she attended the Santa Anna Schools. On August 8, 1928 Linnie married Hardy Biggs, and on November 28, 1959 she married Willis W. Bartlett in Winchell, Texas and they celebrated eleven years of marriage. Willis preceded her in death in 1970. Linnie was a member of the First Baptist Church and a beauty operator. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Malone of Santa Anna, Texas; a son, Norman N. Biggs of Reno, Nevada; one sister, Faye Mobley of Santa Anna, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Biggs of Ft. Worth, Texas ; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Biggs in 1990 and H. L. Mr. Francisco Guzman, age 82 of Wichita Falls, passed away November 3, 2004 at the Monterey Care Center in Wichita Falls. Rosary services were held Friday, November 5, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Father Larry Cyr officiating. Graveside funeral mass was held at the Coleman City Cemetery on Saturday, November 6th at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Father Larry Cyr officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. Pallbearers were J. Luis Guzman, Cruz Martinez, Carlos Mata, Mario Martinez, Francisco Mata and Luis Landaverde. He was born May 7, 1922, the son of the late Ezekiel and Lucas Martinez Guzman. Arthur Vollie Jennings, age 80, of Coleman, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral service was held Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Temple officiating. Burial followed in the Mount View Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Arthur Vollie Jennings was born September 8, 1924 in Coleman, Texas, a son of the late Dr. William Leonard Jennings and Mattie Asenath Horne Jennings. He grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1942. He attended Texas A&M, ACU, HSU and graduated from Texas Tech. Arthur served in the U. S. Army during World War II and married Gussie Sparkman in 1945 in Abilene. He was a math, science and agriculture teacher and a rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Coleman and was presently attending Abilene Bible Church. Arthur was a member of the Gideons International and the Farm Bureau. Gale Allen Brock passed away on November 4, 2004 at the Regency House in San Angelo, Texas. Services were Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Anna with Rev. John Reynolds and Rev. Ken Dahlberg officiating. Interment followed at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. Gale was born in Santa Anna Texas on December 10, 1921 to the late Sam H. and Elizabeth Martin Collier. She graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1938 and received her Bachelors Degree from Daniel Baker College. In 1947 she married Walter Jack Allen who preceded her in death in 1970. She was past president of the Midland Women¹s Business Club, and a member of the ESA Sorority and DAR. Gale made a career in the insurance business and, in 1963, returned to Santa Anna to take over her father¹s insurance agency. She expanded the agency to Coleman, Texas in the early 1970¹s into what is now known as Countywide Insurance Service. She sold the agency and embarked on a second career as a teacher at Santa Anna High School, a vocation she also loved. Gale moved to San Angelo in 1998 and became a member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. She was an active member of Santa Anna First Presbyterian Church where she led the choir and served as a Deacon. The majority of her life she lived in Santa Anna and was proud to serve on the City Council and as Mayor. For a number or years she also served as Justice of the Peace for Coleman County Precinct Two. In 1974, she married Byron Douglas Brock in Santa Anna and Mr. Brock preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Joy Allen of San Angelo, Texas, her grandchildren, Zack and Carly Allen, two stepsons, David Brock of Sugarland, Texas and Randall Brock of Federal Way, Washington, and by dear friends Roy and Katy Harvey of Brownwood and Gaye and Raymond Sewell of San Angelo. Gale is also survived by a host of dear friends, colleagues, classmates and fellow church members in Santa Anna and elsewhere whom she remembered fondly and thought of often. Memorials may be directed to the Santa Anna Cemetery Association, the Santa Anna First Presbyterian Church, or Sierra Vista United Methodist Church of San Angelo. Jerry Edward McGlothing, 68, of Sweetwater, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at his residence. Services were 2 p.m. Monday at Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Harvey Tingle officiating. A Masonic graveside service was at Garden of Memories with Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571, directed by Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home. Jerry was born October 21, 1936 in Santa Anna, Texas. He married LaVohn Cornell on April 2, 1966 in Sweetwater. He was Baptist and worked for Sweetwater Electrical Supply Company for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571. Survivors include his wife, LaVohn McGlothing of Sweetwater; three daughters, Lori Gilliland and husband, Trey of Fort Worth, Sheri Rhodes and husband, Jason of Fort Worth and Jill Spears and husband, Levi of The Colony; eight grandchildren; one brother, Hal McGlothing of Burleson; one sister, Martha Vinson and husband, Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Georgia F. Barlett Lehnis, age 84, of Brownwood died Friday, November 5, 2004 at Cross Country Nursing Center in Brownwood, Texas. Born December 3, 1919 in Santa Anna, Texas, she was a member of the Methodist Church of Santa Anna. A resident of Brown County since 1950, she was a retired District Regional Manager for Kentucky¹s Central Life Insurance Company. On March 29, 1941, she married Martin Luther Lehnis, III in Santa Anna. Survivors include her husband, Martin Luther Lehnis, III of Brownwood; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn J. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Suzette. Paul Morris Pittard, 47 years of age, son of Mrs. Laudus Pittard and the late Harold Pittard of Novice, passed away at his residence in Novice on Saturday, November 6, 2004. Services were Monday at the Rough Creek Cemetery Pavilion at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. D. G. Allen officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. He was born in Coleman,Texas on February 8, 1957. He was a graduate of Novice High School and Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He was a member of Beta Phi Theta and the Methodist Church. He had lived in Novice most of his life and for several years worked for Texas Instruments as a technician. Paul is survived by his mother, Laudus Pittard of Novice; two brothers, Mark Pittard of Carrollton, Texas and Bruce Pittard (his twin brother) of Novice. He was preceded in death by his father. Dorthea Elouise Clements, 81, a longtime resident of Fort Worth, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2004, in Phoenix, Arizona. The funeral was held Saturday, November 12, 2004, in Greenwood Chapel with burial at Greenwood Memorial Park. Elouise was born July 3, 1923, to William Elmore and Minnie Lee Callaway in the town of Mexia. The family later moved to Santa Anna. She graduated from Santa Anna High School and moved to Fort Worth to attend Commercial College. She married her first husband, William Noel Cook, in 1943 and was soon widowed due to a fatal plane crash during a military training exercise. She later married Carl Weldon Clements and opened her own dressmaking business, Clements Sewing Center, in Fort Worth. After only a few short years, she closed the business to raise a family. In 1970, she was divorced from Carl Weldon. After working in several different companies making draperies, she opened her own custom drapery shop, Elouise's Draperies, serving the Fort Worth and Dallas area until she retired in the late 1980's. She was a member of Southwayside Baptist Church and was also involved in the neighborhood watch program, Code Blue. She was compassionate in her concern and service to others always. Elouise was preceded in death by her parents, William Elmore and Minnie Lee Callaway; first husband, William Noel Cook; second husband, Carl Weldon Clements; brothers, Byrnase M. Callaway and Luther Edward Callaway; a son, Alvin Wayne Clements. Survivors: Brother, Duane L. Callaway of Grand Prairie; sister, Jenny V. Robert F. "Bob" Russ III, age 87, passed from this life on Friday, November 12, 2004, at a San Angelo nursing facility. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Johnson¹s Funeral Home Chapel in San Angelo with Jeff Box officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Johnson¹s Funeral Home of San Angelo is in charge of arrangements. He was born on February 15, 1917 in Somerville, Texas to Robert F. and Helda Giescki Russ II. He married Clydene Box on August 10, 1940. Bob, to his friends, was an active educator, coach and school administrator. His years of service took him from San Angelo and Lakeview schools to tour with the U. S. State Department in Venezuela, Pakistan, Bolivia and Monrovia. In Texas, he taught and coached in San Angelo, Coleman, Plainview and McKinney. In New Mexico, he taught and administered to schools in Cloudcroft, Roswell and Tucumcari. He was a builder of schools and young minds. He was most unique in his approach to curriculum and school administration. He was active in "Who¹s Who in Education" and coached high school sports in football, basketball and track. His football teams in Coleman are still recognized for their winning traditions. Wilma Jean (Granny Jean) Priddy, age 74, of Coleman, died Friday, November 12, 2004 at Coleman County Medical Center. Burial followed at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. She was born Wilma Jean Smith on March 30, 1930 in Coleman, Texas, a daughter of Simon and Violet Audrey Graham Smith. She grew up and attended school in Coleman. On May 25, 1946, she married James E. Priddy in Coleman. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James E. Burial followed in Baggett Creek Cemetery, which is located near Gustine. Mrs. Holden died Friday, November 12, 2004 in the Comanche County Consolidated Hospital. She was born March 9, 1908 in the Baggett Community of Comanche County, the daughter of Eugene and Idella Stephens Thompson. She married Balvan C. Holden on January 21, 1929 in Comanche. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche. Funeral services for Archie Mell "Bud" Williams, 87, of Brownfield, Texas, formerly of Valera, Texas, will be held at the First Christian Church in Brownfield on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 10:00 a.m with Rev. Chad McMullin officiating. An additional service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valera Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Beck officiating and assisted by Rev. Mark Smith. Burial will be at the Glen Cove Cemetery with military honors. Archie Mell Williams departed this life to be with his Savior at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at South Plains Regional Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas after an illness. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brownfield Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas and Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, Texas. Archie was born January 20, 1917 in Talpa, Texas, to Henry and Lucy Williams. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Force 136th Field Artillery Battalion, in the Western Pacific. Archie farmed his parent's land until he was called to the service. After the war, he worked for the county in Valera, Texas until 1983. He retired and married Viola McQueen on July 3, 1983, and they lived in Brownfield, Texas. He inherited four children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren through his marriage. His family was the light of his life. He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church in Talpa, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Viola McQueen Williams of Brownfield, Texas; his step-daughters, Betty Bullard and her husband Bobby of Brownfield, Texas; and Shirley Cravey of Imperial, Nebraska; and one step-son, Oliver McQueen of Levelland, Texas; eight step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight nieces and three nephews. Roxie Louise Evans, age 82, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in Graham. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 18th, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham. Burial followed in the Pioneer Cemetery. She was born October 26, 1922 in Valera, Texas and moved to Graham in 1990 from Brownwood. She was a retired waitress and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Curry and husband, Roland of Graham; one grandchild, Kelli Norman and husband, Kevin of Cool, Texas and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Tiffany Norman. Bobby J. Elliott, 70, of Eastland, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in an Eastland Hospital. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday at the Daugherty Street Church of Christ with Larry Roberts officiating, assisted by Terry Slavins. Burial followed in the Rising Star Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland. Mr. Elliott was born July 14, 1934 in Rising Star to E. G. "Bob" Elliott and Inez Smith Elliott. He was a 1954 graduate of Rising Star High School and a graduate of Cisco Jr. College. He married Patricia Holtz on May 17, 1958 in Brownwood. He worked as an oilfield hand and driller in Dayton, Texas and Rising Star working for Lowe Drilling Company. He moved to Bloomfield, New Mexico and worked for Brandon and Murray for a year before returning to Eastland in 1967. He worked for Buddy Haun in the Engineering Department of Texas Highway Department and later for Eastland County and the City of Eastland as a blade operator from which he retired in1996. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Pat Elliott of Eastland; one son, Bert and wife Vickie Elliott of Scranton; three daughters - twins Carla Green and Darla Deck, both of Breckenridge, Marla and husband Alan Craig of Coleman; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Aiden Dale Strayhorn, infant, died November 19, 2004 at his residence. Graveside funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at the Coleman City Cemetery with Pastor Don Northway officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. He was born September 15, 2004. Aiden is survived by his parents, Patricia Sue Fletcher and Cody Dale Strayhorn of Coleman; a sister, Chole Gwen Fletcher of Coleman; grandparents, Larry and Helen Renfroe of Brownwood, Darrel and Opal Fletcher of Coleman and Lon Strayhorn of Coleman. Billie Fenton Davis, 76, of San Angelo died Saturday, November 20, 2004 in San Angelo. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Brother Tommy King and Brother Ed Huston officiating. Graveside service followed at 2:30 in Coleman City Cemetery. Billie was born in Coleman County and was the daughter of Lige and Gladys Fenton. She was a graduate of Mozelle High School. Billie married Thomas H. Davis on March 4, 1951, and they lived in Fort Worth, Texas and later Hurst, Texas before moving to San Angelo in 1968. She was a research technician at the Texas A & M University Research and Extension Center many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ where she taught third through sixth grades as a member of the Foot Prints of the Faithful Team. She taught with this group for a total of 13 years and assisted in conducting numerous workshops for Church of Christ in Texas and throughout the southwest at Abilene Christian University and Lubbock Christian University. She and her husband, Tom, designed, developed and constructed patterns for scenery and properties for religious dramatic presentations that are in use throughout the country and South America. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas H. Davis of San Angelo; two daughters, Patti Davis Riddle of Knoxville, Tennessee and Belinda Davis Archer and her husband, Philip, of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Amber and Thomas Riddle; two sisters, Madelle Motsinger of Abilene and Rebecca Ewing of Ballinger; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Leona McIlvain, of Midland, Texas passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Dr. Tommy Potter officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Midland, Texas. She was born July 23, 1922 to Charles Henry Tiemann and Lillie Louise Stiemann Tiemann in Eden, Texas and was raised and educated there. On April 2, 1939 Leona married Jasper Lee "Jap" McIlvain in Pecos, Texas. She had worked in the meat department of Leader Grocery in Pecos. Leona and "Jap" farmed side by side in Lomax, Texas. While in Lomax, she was the cooking leader in the 4-H Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Leona is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lee and Carl Rodgers; four grandchildren, Sabrina Early and her husband, James, Greta Caldwell and her, husband, Michael, Chad Rodgers and his wife, Chrystal, and Katie Rodgers; and one great-grandchild, Jordan Lee Caldwell, all of Midland, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews including Bobbie McIlvain Smith of Coleman, Texas. Florence Snodgrass French, age 91, of Coleman, Texas passed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 2:07 p.m. at the Bangs Nursing Home in Bangs, Texas. Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at the Gouldbusk Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home. Florence was born November 7, 1913 in Cross Plains, Texas to the late Henry and Betty Sherman Horton. She was reared in Coleman County where she attended the Gouldbusk and Santa Anna Schools. On November 23, 1930 in Tatum, New Mexico, Florence married John Will Snodgrass and they celebrated forty-seven years of marriage. John preceded her in death in 1978. She was a resident of Midland from 1947 till 1970 at that time returning to Coleman. In 1989 she married G. B. French in Coleman, Texas and he preceded her in death in 1991. Florence was a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship and the Rebekah Lodge #344 of Coleman. She retired in 1970 from the Midland ISD Cafeteria staff. Survivors include a son, Johnny and wife Nancy Snodgrass of Mullin, Texas; a granddaughter, Ann and husband Max Richardson of Coleman, Texas; great-granddaughter, Sheila and husband Stephen Taylor of Coleman, Texas; three great-great-grandchildren, Kassidy Snodgrass of Midland, Texas, Daniel and Jessica Taylor of Coleman, Texas; a sister, Dora B. Snodgrass of Midland, Texas; several nieces and nephews and step- grandchildren and great-grandchildren Florence was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant son, a granddaughter, Kim Jackson in 2000, five sisters and three brothers. Mr. Carol E. Hollaway, age 71, of Coleman passed away November 24, 2004 at Holiday Hill Nursing Center in Coleman. Graveside funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at the Poppy Mountain Cemetery in Duren, Texas with Rev. Patrick Bennett officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. Son of the late Homer Franklin and Cynthia Blackman Hollaway, he was born March 15, 1933 in Eola, Texas. A veteran of World War II, he was self-employed and a Catholic. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ford of Coleman and Teressa Sue Skaggs of Dumas; one sister, Lola Dixon of Coleman. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Rex Dewayne Brooks, Jr. of Coleman, Eric Ezelle Griffen of Dumas, Christi and husband Tracy Watson of Coleman and Pearl Don Skaggs of Dumas; and five great-grandchildren, Ray, Ashley, Cynthia, Malina Kay and Tracy Watson, Jr., all of Coleman. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, Maggie Wright, Bobby Dixon and Sam Dixon, all of Coleman, Betty Dixon of Wisconsin, Frank Hollaway of Missouri and Danny Dixon of Valian, Oklahoma. Anna Pearl Adrian Miller, 86, of Abilene died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her residence. Funeral service will be held in Abilene at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) in the Hillcrest Church of Christ Chapel, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home of Abilene. Burial will follow in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California on December 4th following a service at Glendale Church of Christ. She was born near Hooker, Oklahoma on November 4, 1918 to Modena (Swett) and James O. Mires. In May of 1937 in Los Angeles, California, she married Carl L. Adrian, who preceded her in death in October 1985 in California. She was one of the founding members and a past president of Associated Women for Pepperdine University. After moving in 1997 from Glendale, California to Abilene, Anna Pearl married Haven Miller on April 11, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of Buffalo Gap Church of Christ and Hillcrest Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Haven Miller of Abilene; two sons and their spouses; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a nephew; and three step-children including Debbie Hailey and her husband, Joe, of Coleman, Texas; nine step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Leander "Gene" Eugene Hall passed away Friday, November 26, 2004 at his residence in San Angelo, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Greenleaf Cemetery, Brownwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson¹s Funeral Home of San Angelo. Lee was born August 5, 1938 in Coleman, Texas to Leander and Ruth Hall. He served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. Mr. Hall retired from Civil Service (Navy) in 1995 after serving 29 years in the Meteorological and Oceanographic Division of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Point Mugu, California. He retired as the Geophysics Division Instrumentation Branch head. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Hall. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Atkerson Hall; three children, Vicki Lynn Putman and husband David Putman of Oxnard, California, Thomas Hall and wife Carmen of La Pine, Oregon and David Hall of Oxnard, California; a sister Ann Schulze and husband Ken Schulze of Hext, Texas; sister-in-law, Kay Robb and husband Roy K. Patsy McKinley Clark of Baird, Texas passed away Friday, November 26, 2004 in an Abilene hospital after a short illness. A graveside services was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ross Cemetery with John Belcher officiating. Services were under the direction of Parker Funeral Home. Pat was born October 9, 1934 to Sumner and Iris Ferguson McKinley on the Morris Ranch in Coleman County. She attended school at Oplin, Novice and San Marcos Baptist Academy. After graduating, she attended Tarleton State University. She loved horses and from the age of three, she helped with the roundups at the Morris Ranch. At age 11, she started competing in rodeos. She was one of the first female members of the Tarleton rodeo team and in 1953, she was the national collegiate champion barrel racer. She published three cookbooks and was cooking editor for two newspapers. She is survived by her husband, Jim Clark of Baird; seven children and 12 grandchildren, Bob Rice, wife, Ruby and his children: Zack, Ross and Alicia of Spring, Texas; Becky Adams and her children: Marla, Mathew and Shelley of Montgomery, Texas; Ben Rice, wife Janise and their children, Benjamin, Jordin and Tiffany of Tomball, Texas; Cy Clark of Houston, Texas; Jay Clark of Cedar Park, Texas; Jeff Clark, wife, Cindy and their children, Amber and Preston; Kim Holland, husband Russell and son Jim Tom (J. Fred Simonton, age 89, of Fisk, died Friday, November 26, 2004 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Sloan officiating. Burial followed in the Brown Ranch Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mr. Simonton was born April 19, 1915 in Coleman County, a son of W. T. Simonton and Mary Moore Simonton. He grew up in Fisk and graduated from school at Brown Ranch. He married Ottelia Jones on December 3, 1940 in Santa Anna. He was a farmer and worked in the oil field as a driller of 40 years. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ottelia Simonton of Fisk; three daughters, Wahlasha Richards of Coleman, Fredye Utley and husband Lindy, of Paducah, Texas, Debbye Proctor and husband Bill of Burnet; two sons, Spencer Simonton and wife Donna of Bedford, Nicky Simonton and wife Donna of Fisk and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth Cozette Tate Keeney, 80 of Crane, died on Saturday, November 27, 2004 in the Crane Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on today (Tuesday, November 30, 2004) in the Crane County Cemetery with Reverend Jim Ray Brown officiating. Arrangements are with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane. Ruth was born on February 28, 1924 in Ysleta, Texas. She was a housewife and a Baptist. She married John Lester Keeney, Sr. on May 22, 1942. They moved to Crane on August 1, 1958. John preceded her in death on August 3, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Keeney on November 16, 1973. Survivors include: include a son, J. L. Keeney, Jr. of Crane; a daughter, Sharon Ross of Crane; one brother, Lilburn J. Tate of Cross Plains; one sister, Lois Purcell of Kermit; two grandchildren, Monty Keeney and Amber Montoya; and three great grandchildren. Bernadene Latrelee "Mammoo" Cockerham, age 67, died November 28, 2004 at her residence in Liberal, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stan Lehnert presiding. Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery. She was born August 10, 1937 at Coleman, Texas, the daughter of Ed and Inez Cherry (Ailstock) Blake. On December 10, 1957 she married Henry Cockerham at Hobbs, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2000. She had been a resident of Liberal, Kansas for the past 33 years. She was a homemaker and was formerly active with the Garfield Elementary P.T.A. Belle Rozzlle, age 77, of Coleman, died Monday, November 29, 2004 at an Abilene hospital. Graveside funeral service were held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Grosvenor, Brown County, Texas. Services were under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. She was born Belle McWhorter in Grosvenor, Texas on August 22, 1927, a daughter of the late Richard L. McWhorter and Eugenia Mitchell McWhorter. She grew up in Brown and Stephens Counties and graduated from Breckenridge High School. On February 24, 1957 she married Tony O. (Bib) Rozzlle in Lawn, Texas. Belle was a long-time resident of Coleman where she had operated Belle Rozzlle Agency since 1961. Survivors include her husband, Tony (Bib) Rozzlle of Coleman; one brother, Allen McWhorter of Brady, Texas; two nieces, Belinda and husband Jess Dutton of Tuscola, Texas, Sherry McWhorter of Midland, Texas; two nephews, Mike McWhorter of Midland, Texas, Gene Wimsatt of Peru, Illinois; great nieces and great nephews, Ali Eidson, Sam Eidson, Trey Dutton all of Tuscola, Chelsea Wimsatt, Adriane Peterson, both of Gainesville, Florida; one great-great nephew, Jack Ryan Peterson of Gainesville, Florida. Roy Don Biehl was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Coleman, Texas to Elmer and Ruby (Bludworth) Biehl. Roy Don moved to Artesia in 1956 from Burkett, Texas and was a retired Frito-Lay salesman. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1956. He was also affiliated with the Church of Christ. He loved his family and working on cars. Survivors include his children, Steven Biehl and his wife Suzanne of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lisa Shepherd and her husband Worth of Albuquerque; one grandchild, Hailey Shepherd; one brother, Jerry Biehl and his wife Sandra of Lake Brownwood, Texas, and their three children; two uncles, W.B. Janie Louise Mabry, 69, of Winters died Monday, November 29, 2004 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral service was held Wednesday in the Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Ditmer officiating. Burial followed in the Lutheran Cemetery directed by Winters Funeral Home. She was born April 3, 1935 in Winters and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Winters High School. On May 18, 1957, she married Fred F. Mabry in San Saba. She worked for Dry Mfg. Corp. and was a lifetime member of St. John¹s Lutheran Church. Her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Randy Mabry and wife, Annette of Sonora and Kerry Mabry and wife, Sandy of Coleman; one brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Kay Busher of Winters; one sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Milton Gerhart of Winters; one granddaughter, Jalys Mabry of College Station; and two step-grandsons, James Harris of May and Cody Harris of Coleman. A celebration of Louise Allen's life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Fraiser officiating. Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen passed away on November 30, 2004 at Bertram Nursing Home in Burnet. She was born June 9, 1923 in Sylvester, Texas, a daughter of George Delano Keese and Nettie Lee Acklin Keese. She met Floyd Everett Allen in Post and they married November 9, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. He preceded her in death in 1984. She worked for the Winters Independent School District as cook in the cafeteria for nine years. She moved to Coleman in 1983 after living in Winters for many years. She was a bookkeeper, volunteered at the Senior Citizen¹s Center and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Johnny Lee Allen of Coleman; four daughters, Joyce Ann Huckaby of Stanton, Doris Ann Foster of Kingsland, Selinda Louise Meadows of Liberty Hill, Betty Laws of Glen Cove; two sisters, Annie Lee Tate of Coleman, Wynama Gould of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy "Hap" Keese, Clifford Keese and one sister, Juanita Pearson.
