Glenda Beth Williamson - O'Dwyer

Word has been received of the recent death of Glenda Beth Williamson-O’Dwyer of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Santa Anna.

Mrs. O’Dwyer was the daughter of the late James Glen and Lura Vinson Williamson.  She attended the Santa Anna schools, graduating in 1939 and was a 1942 graduate of Shannon School of Nursing.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bill and Glen Riddle of Fort Worth and one brother, J. G. Williamson of New Braunfels.  One son, Lee Riddle, preceded her in death in 1972.

Leona Mae Hopkins, 75

Leona Mae Hopkins, age 75, of Brownwood died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at her residence in Brownwood.  Her body was donated to Texas Tech for medical research.  A memorial service is pending at a later date.  Arrangements were made by Stevens Funeral Home.

Leona Mae Hopkins was born May 28, 1928 in Rogers County, Oklahoma and was a daughter of Lee W. and Leona Johns Abel.  She was married to Orvil Lee Hopkins on May 9, 1980 in Nowata, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1998.  She moved to Cross Plains in 1994 and lived in Coleman for a short time while her husband was a resident at Holiday Hill.  She moved to Brownwood about a year ago.  While living in Coleman she attended Jesus Saves Ministries and at the time of her death was a member of Living Waters in Cross Plains.  She had worked for many years as a waitress.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, May and Dean Brannan of Pioneer, Texas; one brother, Kenneth Abel of Bransdoll, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

Manuela Diaz Rosales, 88

Manuela Diaz Rosales, age 88 of Coleman, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral service was held at 10:00 a. m. Saturday, July 5, 2003 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Frausto, Jr. officiating.  Burial followed at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Manuela was born August 22, 1914 in Whon, Coleman County, Texas and was a daughter of Pete and Francisca Figueroa Diaz.  She grew up in Whon and married Felipe U. Rosales on December 12, 1931 in Brownwood.  He preceded her in death on January 15, 1989.  She was a life-long resident of Coleman County and moved into the city of Coleman following her marriage.  She was a housewife and a member of Cordero Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Amelia Aguirre of Abilene, Lydia Sanchez of Coleman, Anita Escobar of San Antonio, Jeannie Castanon of Abilene and Nena Rosales of Brownwood; seven sons, Octaviano (Otto) Rosales, Gabriel Rosales, Phillip Rosales, Robert Rosales all of Coleman, Eduardo Rosales of Abilene, Salatiel Rosales of Coleman and Ezekiel Rosales of Abilene; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by four sons, Hiram, Raul, Erasmo and Juan Rosales and one daughter, Santa Rosales; three grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Izora 'Baw Baw' Bradley, 82

lzora ‘Baw Baw’ Bradley, age 82, of Coleman passed away Friday, July 4, 2003 at 5:50 p. m. at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman.  Graveside services were Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Shelley J. Quinn officiating. Interment followed with Henderson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Izora was born July 5, 1920 in Millersview, Texas to the late Walter Daniel and Nancy E. Basket Chew.  She was reared at Millersview and attended Millersview Schools.  Izora married Robert Bradley in Coleman, Texas on April 3, 1943 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage.  Bob preceded her in death in 1993.  She was a lifetime resident of Concho and Coleman Counties and a member of the Baptist Church. Izora was a restaurant cook and homemaker.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Donna Bradley of Santa Anna, Texas; five granddaughters, Nanniece and husband Chris Goodwin of Alvarado, Texas, Dalana and husband Wayne Felty of Coleman, Texas, Tiffani and husband Thomas Bevly of Alvarado, Texas, Misty Bradley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Heather Bradley of Coleman; a grandson, Ross and wife Tara Bradley of Santa Anna, Texas; and 12 great-grandchildren.  Izora was preceded in death by her daughter, Agatha Stanford, in 1990 and by three sisters and three brothers.

Honorary pallbearers were J. B. Creek, Archie Davis, Danny Hammonds, Pat Justice, Roy McCorkle, Mickey Smith and Joe Winn.

Charles C. Snodgrass, 56

Charles C. Snodgrass, 56, of Palos Heights, Chicago died on Saturday, July 5, 2003 in a Chicago hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Calvary Assembly of God in Midland, Texas with Bro. Randall McDonald, pastor, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland.  For online condolences go to www.npwelch.com.

He was born on November 24 1946 in Chicago, Illinois and was reared in Midland and left the Midland community in 1983 moving to Dallas, Texas.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967, during that time he received a Purple Heart.  He loved Las Vegas and to travel, especially internationally, and at one time was a professional gambler.

Survivors include his mother, Dora Snodgrass of Midland; his wife, Kahdija Snodgrass of Switzerland; two sons, Amire Snodgrass of Switzerland and Charles Snodgrass II of Midland; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Rick Sledge of Midland; four sisters, Ruth Caldwell and husband Mike, Martha Mauldon, Barbara Prestridge and Donna Lewis and husband David, all of Midland; two brothers, Dewey Snodgrass of Dallas and Darrell Snodgrass of Midland.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Snodgrass; one brother, Hite Dewey Snodgrass; a sister, Lucille Culp; and a grandson, Christopher Snodgrass.

Bill Davis, 69

Bill Davis, 69, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  Services were 9:00 a. m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel in Odessa with Rev. James Otterness officiating. Burial followed at 3 p. m. in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services were entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born June 7, 1934 to M. C. and Hazel Davis in Coleman, Texas.  His parents preceded him in death.  Bill was a fireman for 15 years and he owned a fiberglass repair business.  He manufactured the statue of the steeple at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord.  He worked on the Penzoil car for the Jim Hall’s racing team for the Indy 500 Race.

Survivors include his son, Glenn Davis of Winnfield, Louisiana; daughters, Vickie Smith of Sikes, Louisiana and Ranee Ingles of Winnfield, Louisiana; a sister, JoAnn Molder of Midland, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rosa Lee Seals, 95

Rosa Lee Seals, age 95, of Coleman died Monday, July 7, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. today (Thursday, July 10, 2003) at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating and Rev. John Stanislaw assisting.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Rosa Lee was born April 16, 1908 in Kaufman County, Texas, a daughter of Tom KeIley and Emma Bell Adams Kelley.  She moved to Coleman County as a young child and attended schools in the Buffalo Community. She married Clifford L. Seals in 1924 in Coleman.  He preceded her in death in 1967.  She worked on the family farm and later worked for Grammer’s Department Store in Coleman and worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. J. F. Gaines.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman.

Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Wilder of Coleman and Dorothy Mitchell and husband Robert of Abilene; one brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Hester Kelley of Abilene; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sybil and Jay Nichols of Hondo and Lena B. and Travis Smith of San Angelo; one granddaughter, Rosemary Mitchell Henderson and husband, James of Keller and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Adolph Kelley and son-in-law, Roy Wilder.  Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Coleman, 200 East College Street, Coleman, Texas 76834 or the donor’s favorite charity.

Donnie Joe Kuykendall, 47

Donnie Joe Kuykendall, age 47, of Santa Anna, Texas passed away Monday, July 7, 2003 at 4:00 p. m. at his residence in Santa Anna.  Graveside services were 2 p. m. Wednesday in Santa Anna Cemetery with Rev. Dick Schultz officiating.  Interment followed under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Donnie was born in Lamesa, Texas on January 26, 1956 to Wanda Treadwell Kuykendall and the late Billy Joe Kuykendall.  He was reared in Santa Anna where he attended the Santa Anna Schools and was a Baptist.  Donnie married Barbara Slayton in Santa Anna on July 8, 1989.  He had been a resident of Santa Anna since 1969, moving there from Brownfield and worked as an equipment operator in road construction and oil field work.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Kuykendall and Jonny Dewayne Kuykendall, both of Santa Anna; his mother, Wanda Dietzel of Santa Anna; a sister, Vicki Wagner of San Angelo; two brothers, Rob “Bat” Kuykendall and Wayne Kuykendall, both of Santa Anna; and several nieces and nephews.  Donnie was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.  Honorary pallbearers include Chris Kuykendall, David Kuykendall, Peyton Kuykendall, Jonathan Fry, Donnie Fry, Joe Guerrero, Bobby Lewis and Steve Short.

Marie Campbell, 95

Marie Campbell, age 95 of Georgetown and formerly of Coleman County, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown.  Graveside service was held at 1:00 p. m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at Voss Cemetery with Louise Strength officiating.  Services were under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mrs. Campbell was born June 23, 1908 in Millersview, Concho County, Texas, a daughter of Joel Thomas Cohea and Eliza Jeanette Gates Cohea.  She attended school at Leaday.  She married Ira Pinkney Campbell.  He died in 1945.  She was a restaurant cook and a Baptist.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Ray Campbell of Odessa; one daughter, Zepha Kugle of Georgetown; three nephews, Willie Matthews, Lester Matthews and Carl Matthews all of Coleman; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Lowell Campbell and Fred Campbell and one daughter, Peggy Jo Blevins.

Nancy Beard, 64

Nancy Beard, age 64, of Lubbock Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at her home.  Services will be held at 11 a. m. Friday July 11, 2003 at Lake Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. John Burk, pastor officiating.  Private burial is under direction of Hudman Funeral Home.

Nancy was born October 13, 1938 in Coleman Texas.  She married Don Beard on December 4, 1987 in Post.  She was the founder of Mother-2-be in Lubbock.  She attended Texas Tech, and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Women Entrepreneurs of Lubbock and Lakeridge United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Macy.  Survivors include: husband, Don Beard of Lubbock, one son Michael Macy of Post, one daughter Sharla Duncan of Lubbock, one stepson James Brent Beard of Plano and seven grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation or Lakeridge United Methodist Church.

Inez Daniel Lowe, 93

Inez Daniel Lowe of Victoria, formerly of Santa Anna, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003 in Victoria, Texas.  Graveside services and interment were Saturday at 2:00 p. m. at the Santa Anna Cemetery.  Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna was in charge of local arrangements.

Inez was born September 29, 1909 in Kinston, Duplin County, North Carolina to the late Charles Edward and Cornelia Maxwell Daniel.  She married Clifford R. Lowe on June 22, 1934 in Lovington, New Mexico and they celebrated 51 years of marriage.  Inez taught school in Buffalo, Santa Anna, Coleman and Runnels County and farmed and raised cattle with her husband in Eureka community.  Upon retirement they moved to Santa Anna and were members and active in the First United Methodist Church.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; brother, Earl Daniel; and sister, Gelia Lowndes.

Blayne Wriley Garrett, infant

Blayne Wriley Garrett, infant son of Adam Garrett and Ashley Villegas of Abilene, died Thursday, July 10, 2003.  Graveside services were 2 p. m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South.  Burial was in Babyland.

Blayne was born June 21, 2003 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, are big brother, Blaze Garrett of Abilene; grandparents, Tom and Connie Garrett of Abilene, Cherie Wrobel and Joel Bell of Coleman, Joe Villegas of Abilene, Carl Conner Villegas of Abilene; stepgranddad, Mat Gaines of Coleman; great-grandparents, Robert and Virginia Villegas, Paul Wilson and Cricket Wisiner, all of Coleman, Dewayne Jones of Abilene and Harold Garrett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.; great- great- grandmother, Willie Jones of Abilene; great-great-grandfather, Little Grandpa Dela Rosa; aunts, Shaley Villegas and Keylee Wrobel of Coleman, Lindsey Villegas of Abilene, Leah Barnes of Temple and Cicili Bell of Brownwood; uncles, Andy Garrett of Abilene, Matt Barnes of Temple, Logan Bell of Coleman and numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins, friends of Coleman and Abilene, Dr. Marshall and all the special care nurses of Abilene Regional Medical Center.  Blayne was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Mona Jones and Joann Palon; greatgreat-grandmothers, Simona Dela Rosa and Essie Wisiner and greatgreat-grandfather Odie Jones.

Imogene Kemp, 75

Graveside services for lmogene Kemp, 75, of Denton, were 11 a. m. Monday at Glen Cove Cemetery, under the direction of HowelI - Doran Funeral Home.  Mrs. Kemp died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Good Samaritan Village in Denton.

She was born September 12, 1927 in Christoval.  She was a 10-year resident of Denton County, a 25-year resident of San Saba County and a long-time resident of Coleman County.  She was a homemaker, a rancher’s wife and a school bus driver for 20 years.  She was a member of the Krum Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Kemp of Krum; one daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Tom Faught of Denton; five grandchildren; and one sister, Ruzie Klobes of Freeport, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Kemp, of San Saba.

Roger Vinson Watson, 93

Mr. Roger Vinson Watson, 93, of Cross Plains died Monday, July 14, 2003 in the Rising Star Nursing Center in Rising Star, Texas.  Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Burkett Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home of Cross Plains.

Roger was born October 31, 1909 in Burkett, Texas to Emmitt Watson and Stella Stanphill Watson.  He married Ernestine Oliver in Coleman, Texas on November 17, 1932.  Roger lived his entire life in Coleman and Callahan Counties, except for a short period after high school when he lived with relatives in the Rio Grande Valley.  He attended schools at Comal and Burkett before graduating from high school in Cross Plains in 1932.  He and his wife Ernestine started a life of almost 62 years together on the old Watson home place near the Little Pecan Bayou north of Burkett.  For a time the two owned and operated a cafe in Winters, before settling in the Burkett area where Roger farmed and ranched until his retirement in 1976, when they moved to Cross Plains.  They had two sons who attended public school in Burkett before attaining their college degrees.  Roger lost his life mate Ernestine in 1994, as well as his sister Faye and brother Phelix, but continued to live at the family home in Cross Plains until he was no longer able and then moved to the Rising Star Nursing Center in 2000.  Mr. Watson served on the Board of Trustees at Burkett schools and as President for many years.  He was a life-long member of the Burkett Baptist Church and was a Mason.

He is survived by his sons Max and wife Edith of Port Bolivar, Billy and wife Carol Ann of Richmond; sister, Mildred Harlow of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Sylvia Watson of Abilene; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; four nephews and one niece.  Memorials may be made to Cross Plains EMS or Burkett Cemetery Association.

Hazel Allabio

Hazel Allabio died July 14, 2003 in San Jose, California.  She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Janet Horton of Coleman and Shirley Jensen of San Jose, California; one son, Gary Horton of Cedar Park, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Maggie Ruth Stokes, 86

Mrs. Maggie Ruth Stokes, age 86, of Talpa passed away July 18, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Services were graveside Monday at 10:00 a. m. at the Talpa Cemetery with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating.  Burial followed under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Daughter of the late J. P. and Lula Miller Brevard, she was born April 1, 1917 and married Horace Stokes on November 30, 1937 in Ballinger.  A graduate of Talpa High School, Mrs. Stokes was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Coleman.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen and husband, Jim Cate, of Dillsboro, Indiana; one son, Wesley Stokes of Talpa; one sister, Naomi Berry of Andrews; and one brother, Lawton Brevard of San Angelo. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers were grandsons Greg, Brian and Kevin Stokes, Steve and Brad Cate and Art Muela.

Charles A. Thompson, 84

Mr. Charles Andrew Thompson, age 84 of DeSoto passed away July 20, 2003 at Garden Terrace.  Funeral service will be graveside tomorrow (Wednesday, July 23rd) with the Rev. Father Larry Cyr officiating and burial to follow at the Brown Ranch Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.  The family will receive friends today (Tuesday) from 6:00 until 8:00 p .m. at the funeral home.

He was born October 23, 1918 in Fort Smith, Arkansas the son of the late Tommy and Margaret O’Leary Thompson.  On November 14 1942 he married UdelI Van Dyke in Coleman County.  A veteran of WWII, Charles was a retired Veterans Administration Hospital administrator, a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Duncanville, Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Earle of Granbury: one son, Mark Thompson of DeSoto; brother, Tommy Thompson of Dallas; two sisters, Bertha Major of Rockford, Illinois and Margaret Smith of Dallas. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jessica and David Earle.

Otis Randolph Trull, 76

Mr. Otis Randolph “Randy” Trull, age 76 of Coleman passed away at the Brownwood Care Center July 22, 2003 at 10:25 p. m.  Services will be graveside today (Thursday) at 10:00 a. m. at the Santa Anna Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Roberts officiating and burial to follow under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Randy was born February 19, 1927 in Whon, the son of the late W. F. and Nettle Irene Ramsey Trull.  A lifetime Coleman County resident, Randy was a veteran of WWII and a Baptist.

He is survived by two sisters, Myrtle Jo Smith of Coleman and Eva McCarrell of Brownwood; one brother, Donald Trull of Brady.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen R. Fuller, 59

Ms. Kathleen R. Fuller, age 59 of Coleman passed away Thursday, July 24, 2003 at her residence.  Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. Monday at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Chappell, pastor of St. Paul Methodist Church of Abilene, officiating and burial following at the Crews Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Kathleen was born January 20, 1944 in Denver, Colorado.  She attended school in Ballinger, moving to Coleman in 1996 from Joshua, Texas.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, O. C. Fuller and Grace Griffin of Coleman; her mother, Virginia Frances Orgon of Ballinger; two daughters, Jamie and husband David Cauchon of Abilene and Jodie and husband Russell Glick of Walls, Mississippi; one son, David M. Skinner, Jr. of NAF Jacksonville, Florida.  Also surviving are six grandchildren.

Lena Mary Pitts, 98

Lena Mary Pitts, age 98 of Coleman passed away Friday, July 25, 2003 at 12:10 a .m. at the Merkel Nursing Center in Merkel, Texas.  Graveside services were held Sunday at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. David Jenkins officiating.  Interment followed with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.

Lena was born in Pioneer, Texas on July 6, 1905 to the late Lee and Lillie Hale Davis.  She has been a resident of Coleman since 1917.  Lena married William Henry Pitts on June 23, 1920 in Pioneer and they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.  William preceded her in death in 1976.  She was an active and longtime member of the Central Baptist Church and retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company and was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Kile of Coleman; one sister, Lillie Curtis of Anson; one brother, Claude Davis of Midland; one granddaughter, Dixie Ramirez of Abilene; one great-granddaughter, Lisa Cloud of Abilene; one greatgrandson, Brian Bolen of Coleman; and great-great-grandchildren, Kara and Trevor Cloud of Abilene.

Lillie E. Baker, 77

Lillie E. Baker, 77, of Iraan died Sunday, July 27, 2003 in Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.  Graveside services will be held at 10 a. m. today (Tuesday) in Restland Cemetery in Iraan with Reverend Mike Wright officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker was born October 1, 1926.  She had been a resident of Iraan for 42 years.  She was a housewife and a member of the Iraan First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Baker, Sr. of Iraan; two daughters, Wanda Loftin and husband Jimmy of Iraan and Mary Warwick and husband Jimmie of Granite Shoals; two sons, William Moellering of Iraan and Carl Baker, Jr. and wife Debbie of Big Lake; a brother, Clarence Kenley of Penwell; sisters-in-law Audra Kenley of Odessa and Faye Killough of Winters; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Anthony Guel, 17

Anthony Guel, age 17, of Coleman died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a. m. today (Thursday) at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Anthony was born November 16, 1985 in McAllen, Texas, a son of Mario Guel and Sylvia Diaz Nowlin.  He moved to Coleman in 1997 and attended school at Coleman High School.  He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Survivors include his mother and step-father, Sylvia and Danny Nowlin; father, Mario Guel; two brothers, Mario Net Guel and Louis Gerardo Alvarado; one sister-inlaw, Marcia Mares; grandparents, Buster Diaz, Aurora Diaz, Antonia Sanchez; nine aunts, Diana Umana, Elizabeth Vences, Darsey Bustamante, Dora Diaz, Marylou Diaz, Judy Espitia, Sonia Chavez, Irma Contreras, Martha Sanchez; seven uncles, Richard Diaz, Felix Diaz, Emilio Diaz, Jimmy Diaz, Joey Diaz, Fernando Guel, Paulo Sanchez and numerous cousins also survive.

Pallbearers will be Danny Nowlin, Richard Diaz, Felix Diaz, Emilio Diaz, Joey Diaz and Boyd Lee Diaz.  A prayer service was held at 7 p. m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with visitation following until 9 p. m.

Bobbie Sue Estes, 68

Bobbie Sue Estes, age 68, of San Angelo passed away Monday, July 28, 2003 at 2:30 p. m. at SCCI in San Angelo.  Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a. m. at the Rockwood Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Estes officiating.  Interment will follow at the Rockwood Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.  Family visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 6 until 8 p. m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born on December 20, 1934 in Hodges, Taylor County, Texas to the late Bob and Louise Ellison Garner.  She was reared in Abilene where she attended Abilene High School.  She had been a resident of San Angelo since 1962 where she was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her former husband, Weldon Estes of San Angelo; a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Kelly Estes of Saginaw; three sisters, Annette Frazier and Paula Guthrie, both of Clyde and Shirley Short of Michigan; granddaughter, Gloria Estes of Saginaw; grandson, Shane and wife Misty Estes of Fort Worth; and great-granddaughter, Halley Estes of Fort Worth.

Bobbye Brown - Heptinstall, 94

Graveside services were conducted July 31, 2003 at the Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood for a former Santa Anna native, Bobbye Brown Heptinstall with Rev. Bobby Britton officiating.  Mrs. Heptinstall died Monday, July 28th in Brownwood.

Bobbye Bernice was born November 14, 1908 in Santa Anna to the late Robert Owen and Ethleen Taylor Brown.  She was a graduate of Howard Payne University and North Texas Teacher College in Denton, teaching music and art for the Mineral Wells school system for many years.  She married Guy G. Heptinstall in Mullin, June 29, 1926 and he preceded her in death.  Upon retirement she made her home in Brownwood and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Neva Jo Robinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne T. Brown in 1962.

Willie Fariss, 90

Graveside services for Willie Fariss, age 90 of Novice, Texas were held at 3:30 p. m. Tuesday, July 29th at Coleman City Cemetery with Rev. Price Mathison officiating.  Interment followed under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home of Brownwood.  Mrs. Fariss passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Coleman County Medical Center.

She was born December 13, 1912 at Goldsboro, Texas, the daughter of the late Theotholus A. and Lura A. Bullard.  She was a retired postmaster of Novice postal service.  She attended schools in Goldsboro and Novice and had been a resident of Coleman County most of her life.  She was a member of Novice Baptist Church.  She married James L. Fariss on October 1, 1929 in Coleman County.  He preceded her in death on May 4, 1978.

Survivors include one niece, Leota and husband Rex Cate, of Novice and a nephew, Gene Bullard of Corsicana.

Gladys Ratliff, 85

Funeral services for Gladys Ratliff, 85, of Goldthwaite, were 3 p. m. Sunday at Stacy - Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel with Wade Lackey officiating.  Interment followed at Terry Cemetery in San Saba County, under the direction of Stacy - Wilkins Funeral Home.  Mrs. Ratliff died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Goldthwaite Senior Health Center.

She was born May 16, 1918, in Lometa, a daughter of William Cook and Alice Fault.  She married Woodrow Wilson Ratliff on October 31, 1938, in San Saba County.  They moved from Cherokee to Goldthwaite in 1952.  She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons, Randal Ratliff of Goldthwaite, Wayne Ratliff of Goldthwaite and Steve Ratliff of Austin; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Cook of Bowie, William Cook of Houston, Leslie Cook of California, Elton Fault of Odessa and Harvey Cook of California; and a sister, Bertha Allen of Santa Anna.  She was preceded in death by her husband on September 15, 2002; brother, Alvin Cook, and her parents.
