Willie N. Calcote, 76

Willie Norman Caicote, age 76 of Huntsville, Alabama departed this life on Wednesday, April 9, 2003.  The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th at Berryhill Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Eads officiating.  Burial followed in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Calcote had been a resident of Huntsville since 1958.  Prior to his move to Huntsville, he was living and working in Texarkana.  His youthful years were spent in Trickham, Texas, a rural community in the southeast portion of Coleman County.  He graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1946.  He enrolled in Texas A&M University in the fall of 1946 and graduated from the aforesaid university in 1950.  Mr. Calcote was an employee of the Department of the United States Army for most of his working life.  At the time of his retirement, he had attained the position as a Director of Management Information Systems.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite H. Calcote; his mother, Carrie M. Cozart; his brother, Otis V. Calcote; and his stepfather, A. Leston Cozart.  Survivors include his son, James L. Williams of Huntsville, Alabama; his daughter, Donna W. Sharp of Harvest, Alabama; one sister, Doris Watson of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Family Care.

Veoma McSwane Adams, 84

Mrs. Veoma McSwane Adams, age 84, passed away April 20, 2003 in Anderson, Indiana.  Burial was in Anderson Cemetery in Indiana.

She was born in Rockwood, Texas on May 18, 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. A. N. McSwane.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000.  She is survived by three children, Joyce Yapp and husband Bill of San Antonio, Texas; Minnie Jean Hudson of Anderson, Indiana; and Janice Boten and husband Leon of Anderson, Indiana.  Two sisters also survive, Dorothy Mills of Austin, Texas and Alma Williams of Andrews, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  One grandson preceded her in death, Jubal Cox of San Antonio.

David G. Murray, 83

David G. Murray, age 83, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at his home in Spring, Texas.  Memorial service will be at 10:00 a .m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the Leaday Baptist Church on the banks of Lake Ivie.  Rex Stephenson will officiate.

David was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico on June 4, 1919 to Geo. P. and Delores (Doll) Murray.  He graduated from Iraan High School, Iraan, Texas, Class of ‘37.  After serving with the Air Force during World War II, he worked in the Middle East, later in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, working for an offshore drilling company as maintenance superintendent, retiring to College Station, then to Michigan, back to Spring, Texas.  He loved to travel.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, W. O. and Alice A. Gann, pioneer ranchers at Leaday, Texas; his parents, Geo. P. and Delores Murray, pioneer of the booming oil fields.  He is survived by his wife, Consuela; three daughters and their husbands, Mary D. and Ivor Hemnandez of Ashburn, Virginia, Leann and Sean Pipkins of Portage, Michigan, and Patricia Murray of Spring, Texas; two grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth M. Warren of San Angelo, Texas; and numerous cousins.
