Jarrell Matthew Giles, age 73, of Brownwood, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Robinett officiating. Interment followed in Eastlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Born March 18, 1926 in Crews, Texas in Runnels County, he had been a resident of Brownwood since 1972. He served in the US Army during WWII and was in car sales. He was married to Maurine Ottill on December 23, 1944; she preceded him in death on january 4, 1988. He then married Mary Jane Scott Jamison at Coleman, Texas on February 15, 1991. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Giles of Brownwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kay Giles of Brownwood; a daughter Koleta Methvin of Early; a daughter and son-in-law, Phylis and Hal Monical of Fair Oaks; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; two sister, Fairy Alcorn of Winters and Ferrell King of Brownwood; two brothers, Abe Giles of Lake Brownwood and Fred Giles of Georgetown; step-children, Camille White of Greenville and Mark Jamison of Lubbock.

Hattie Lee Griffith, 90, died at her home Thursday, March 16, 2000. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, March 22nd, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Porterfield officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p. m. Friday at Coleman Cemetery in Coleman, Texas. Ellis Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. She was born February 27, 1910 in Coleman County, Texas to Roger and Elvira (Baker) Griffith. She married Howard Luther Griffith on August 18, 1958 in Midland. She worked for Midland Memorial Hospital before her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Howard Griffith of Midland; and two sisters, Berniece Neff of Coleman and Aubie Dunham of Fort Worth. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Keeney, J. D. Keeney and Thomas Keeney.
