Rex H. Jones, age 69, of Coleman, died Friday, May 8, 1998, at 11:00 p. m. at Shannon Hospital (San Angelo, Texas).  Graveside services were held Monday, May 11, 1998, at 10:30 a. m. in the City Pavilion with Rev. Jeff Robinett of Shared Life Ministry of First Presbyterian and First Christian Churches of Coleman officiating.  Buria1 was in the Coleman City Cemetery under direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Mr. Jones was born February 2, 1929 in Breckenridge to Ord Gordon and Annie Rhea Price Jones. He attended Coleman High School and Barber College of Brownwood.  Mr. Jones lived most of his life, since 1936, in Coleman, was a past member of the Masonic Lodge, and was a veteran of the National Guard 36th Division.  He was a barber and a Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Jones of Coleman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Rick Densman of Abilene, Nancy and Bob Brockman of Sonora, and Mary Joe and Sam Turner of Denton; four grandchildren, Amy Densman of Abilene, Ashley Brockman of Sonora, Ryan Densman of Abilene, and Landon Brockman of Sonora; and one brother, Dr. W. R. (Bill) Jones of Cleburne.
