Roberta Rider, age 51, of Coleman, died January 11, 1998.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today (Tuesday, January 13, 1998) at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel With Rev. David Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Roberta Rider was born October 25, 1946 in Coleman, Texas, the daughter of the late Reuben Wilkins and Sudie Mott England Wilkins.  She grew up in Coleman and attended school here.  She married K. M. Rider on October17, 1963 in Coleman.  She was employed as a note teller at Coleman County State Bank for the past 18 years.  She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for over 25 years.  Mrs. Rider was also the Cubbies Director for the Awanas at Central Baptist Church.  She had been a member of Coleman Band Boosters for 10 years.

Survivors include her husband, K. M. Rider of Coleman; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Chipper Anderson of Coleman; one son, Clay Rider of Arlington, Texas; two half sisters, Louisa Avants of Maryland and Maxine McLemore of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Luke and Jed Anderson, both of Coleman; nieces and nephews; many family members and frlends.  Pallbearers are Wayne McClure, Chris Jamison, Henry Dodson, Eddie Steffey, Bonnie Whitfield, Carl White.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
