Rites For Mrs. D. A. Paddleford, 86, Held Wednesday

A pall of sadness was cast over Coleman and Coleman County Tuesday night with the passing of Mrs. D. A. Paddleford, 86, one of the communities noblest pioneer women, at her home, 116 South Nueces Street.  Mrs. Paddleford died peacefully at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday evening after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock form the family residence with the Rev. J. D. Williams, Episcopal rector officiating.  Interment was in the Coleman cemetery under direction of J. E. Stevens Company.

Mrs. Paddleford was born June 18, 1860, at Liberty.  She moved to Coleman county in 1876 and has resided here since that time, winning the love and respect of her acquaintences in an ever-widening circle of friendship and service.

Pallbearers were Bob Wood, Charles R. Wilson, john B. Warren, Jr., Hayden Hargett, H. M. Collins and George Robey.  Flower bearers included Mesdames Frankie Sedwick, Bess Williamson, Louie Miller, Robert Bowen, W. T. Hutchinson, Harry Woolridge, Milton Collins and Miss Katherine Rush.

Survivors include two sons, Fred paddleford and Charles Paddleford of Coleman; six daughters, Mrs. Ruth Williams, Mrs. Della Livingston, Mrs. R. R. Browning and Mrs. Nan Ayres, all of Coleman; Mrs. C. W. Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; and Mrs. Kate Little of Breckenridge; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also mourn her passing.
