Mrs. Emily Goode, Goldsboro, age 22 years, 1 month, 12 days, died May 6th; cause of death, blood poison.

Friends sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Baxter of Coleman in the death of their day old baby which occurred Saturday, May 6th.

We wish to express to our friends and neighbors our deep appreciation and sincere thanks for their sympathy and many kindnesses shown us during our recent bereavement.  The memory of the many beautiful flowers which adorned the casket of our baby boy shall ever remina in our hearts and minds the most prized jewel of our fondest memories.  Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Baxter.

Mrs. H. O. Hedgecoxe, Goldsboro, age 45 years, 2 months, 5 days, died May 7th.

Tuesday morning about ten minutes after opening his saddle shop in Brownwood, J. W. Morris shot himself through the heart with an old fashioned 44 Colt revolver.  Friends of the deceased believe that despondency and business troubles were the cause of his rash act.  It is said that for the past two or three months he had been drinking very heavily.  Mrs. Morris is prostrated over the ...dy and was unable to tell her husband's biography.  Mr. Morris was a former citizen of Coleman, working in J. H. Nance's saddle shop from 1906 to 1910 also about a year for Wm. Broad.

The remains of Anton Isaac Eggel were interred in the Coleman cemetery Sunday, May 14th, 1916.  Assisted by friends of the family, Rev. F. S. Henderson, paster of the First Presbyterian Church, had charge of the obsequies.  His death occurred in San Antonio, May 12th.  The funeral was conducted from the home of Mrs. T. D. Abernathy.

Deceased was about thirty years of age.  His mother, Mrs. F. Eggel; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Denning; a brother, Fidelle Eggel, were here from Waco to attend the funeral.

H. Firm Green, former Coleman citizen, died in San Angelo Friday, May 12th.  The remains were conveyed to Coleman for interment, Rev. J. J. Kellam conducting the funeral services Saturday at noon.  Surviving are the wife and five children, four daughters and one son.  The girls are Misses Nora Roberts, Cora, Grace and Gertrude Green.  The son is Clyde Green, associated with the Crowther Hardware Company of San Angelo.  Mr. Green was forty-nine years of age.  He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee.

A. P. Townsen of Novice attended the funeral of a brother, J. M. Townsen, who died at his home near Lampasas, May 30th at the age of 72 years.  The Lampasas Leader, in the following brief article, pays tribute to the deceased:

"J. M. Townsen died at his home, two miles north of Lampasas, Tuesday morning, after an illness extending over several months, during which time he was patient, quiet and the same kind, considerate man which has characterized his entire life.  The boday was taken to the old home burying ground near ... interment.  He leaves ... a number of grow ... mourn the loss of ... father who was always affectionate and good.  M ... one of nine brothers ... were reared in this ... county of whom are yet living."
