WALLACE, BRUCE E.
Bruce E. Wallace, son of Cal. and Mrs. Karl F. Wallace, entered the Army Air Corps July 14, 1943; left for ETO Aug. 1, 1944; flew 35 combat missions over enemy territory as tail gunner on a B-17; was attached to 92nd Bomb Group; awarded Air Medal with six clusters and Purple Heart; held rank of staff sergeant when discharged Oct. 1, 1945.
WALLACE, KARL E., JR.
Karl E. Wallace, Jr., son of Cal. and Mrs. Karl E. Wallace, Sr., entered the Army March 23, 1943; sent to ETO; fought in Rhineland, Ardennes, Belgian Bulge, Northern France, and Germany with 80th Division; awarded Purple Heart with cluster; now serving as captain in Texas National Guard.

Bill Ted Walker, son of Mrs. Sue Walker, was inducted into the Army Air Corps Aug. 28, 1942; received extensive training In the States; left for CBI sector in November, 1944; fought in Central and Northern Burma and in China; spent 13 months overseas; is private, first class.

Jessie Burle Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hubert Walker, entered United States Marines on May 8, 1942; sent to Pacific Sept. 1, 1942; fought on Guadalcanal; overseas 28 months; was technical sergeant of First Marine Division; discharged.
WALKER, JOHNNIE B.
Johnnie B. Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Walker, was inducted into the Army May 4, 1943; sailed for Europe Nov. 30, 1944; fought in battles for the Rhine River, and various others, while attached to a Field Artillery unit of the Ninth Army; is now stationed in Germany.

Leslie Doyle Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hubert Walker, was inducted into the United States Army June 20, 1943; received training at Camp Walters, Mineral Wells, Texas; held the rank of private, first class, when honorably discharged Oct. 29, 1943.

Melbourn Loyd Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Walker, entered the Army March 14, 1945; trained at ‘Fort Sam Houston, Camp Hood, and Fort Ord, Calif.; sent to Pacific Sept. 18, 1945; overseas eight months; served with 738th Military Police Battalion in Philippines; discharged.

Oran H. Watson, son of William B. Watson, entered the Army Air Corps Dec. 15, 1939; sent to ETO in August, 1943; fought in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno; spent 21 months overseas; held rank of technical sergeant when discharged Sept. 19, 1945.

William Arthur Watters, son of L. Y. Watters, entered the Army Air Corps Nov. 7, 1942; trained extensively in the States; sent to CBI Aug. 10, 1944; overseas five months; was attached to 1306th Battalion, Squadron C; discharged as sergeant on Oct. 14, 1945.
WEAVER, CHARLES TURNER
Charles Turner Weaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Weaver, entered the Navy Feb. 15, 1934; received training at San Diego, Calif.; sailed to Pacific in October, 1940; was aboard cruiser Houston when it sank Nov. 1, 1942 and is presumed dead; awarded Purple Heart posthumously.

George P. Weaver, son of Joseph T. Weaver, entered the Army Air Corps March 5, 1942; trained at Roswell, N. M.; sent to Pacific Theater of Operations in May 1945; spent six months overseas; served in Manila and Hollandia; held rank of sergeant; discharged.

John R. Wellborn, son of Mrs. Naomi Wellborn, was inducted into the Army Air Forces Sept. 15, 1943; received training at Cedar Falls, Iowa, Tucson, Ariz., La Juanta, Colo.; holds the tank of second lieutenant; now stationed in Colorado.

James H. Wesson, son of J. R. Wesson, entered the Army Nov. 6, 1942; sent to Pacific March 20, 1943; fought on New Guinea, New Britain, Leyte, Luzon, Philippines; awarded Purple Heart; was attached to 112th Cavalry Division; was sergeant when discharged in October 1945.

James A. Wester, son of Wallace Wester, entered the Army Air Corps Oct. 16, 1942; sent to ETO July 1, 1944; fought in Rome-Arno; 19 months overseas; received Presidential Citation; expert rifleman; attached to 416th Fighter Squadron; was sergeant when discharged Jan. 1, 1946.
WETZEL, ROBERT W.
Robert W. Wetzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wetzel, entered Army Air Force Dec. 31, 1943; sent overseas Feb. 27, 1945; served with 388th Bomb Squad; participated in bombing missions over enemy-held territory; killed in action April 7, 1945; awarded Purple Heart posthumously.

George Daniel Wheatley, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Wheatley, entered the Navy July 29, 1943, sailed overseas in October, 1944; participated in battle for Okinawa; spent 15% months overseas; held the rank of gunner’s mate, second class, when discharged March 19, 1946.
WHEELER, HAROLD F.
Harold F. Wheeler of Bangs, was inducted into the Army April 16, 1945; received training at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas; was attached to the 51st Anti-Aircraft Artillery; held the rank of corporal when honorably discharged in August 1946.
WHEELER, RALPH E.
Ralph E. Wheeler of Bangs, was inducted into the Army July 21, 1942; sailed overseas and served in the Aleutians, Marshalls, Leyte and Okinawa; was attached to the 31st Field Artillery Battalion, Seventh Army; spent 30 months overseas; held rank of sergeant when discharged.

Junior Howard White, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. White, entered the United States Navy Sept. 30, 1943; received training at San Diego, Calif.; served with Co. 43-93 M. S. N., J. S.; was honorably discharged from service Oct. 21, 1943.
