is corporal; now stationed on Luzon.

Charles Billy Maness, son of Uless Maness, entered the Army June 4,
1943; sent to ETO July 13, 1944, for 17 months’ duty; participated in four

Horace Lowell Markland, son of H. L. Markland, entered the Army Air
Corps June 16, 1942; received training at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas,
and in Oklahoma; killed in training while stationed in Chickasha, Okla.,
Oct. 3, 1942.

Division; now stationed at Toboga Island in Pacific.

Navy in March, 1943; sailed for the Pacific in April, 1944; fought on Saipan,

at Philadelphia, Pa., as seaman first class.

now stationed on Saipan.

is corporal; now stationed in Tokyo.

9, 1942, to Sept. 12, 1945; discharged on Feb. 4, 1946.

Earle Stephen Mask, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam D. Mask, entered the Merchant
Marine Jan. 9, 1945; was sent overseas in June 1949: served in both Atlantic
and Pacific on tankers SS Golden Hill, SS Tobias F. Stanbury and SS Chantilly;
made voyages to numerous foreign countries.

Sam A. Mask, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam D. Mask, entered the Army Air
Corps Jan. 27, 1943; sent to the Pacific Dec. 5, 1944: flew missions over
Jap held territory; awarded Air Medal with cluster and DFC: credited with
shooting down Jap Zero; was staff sergeant when discharged.

Lowell C. Maxwell, son of Mrs. Mary Maxwell entered the Army in October,
1942; sent to ETO in February, 1944: fought in Normandy; served with Paratroopers,
82nd Airborne Division; killed in action June 11, 1944; awarded Purple
Heart posthumously; was first lieutenant.

seaman; was lieutenant when discharged in October, 1945.

Harvey Woodrow Metts, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Metts, entered the
Navy Seabees in May, 1944; received training at Camp Peary, Va.; sailed
overseas in January, 1945; fought on Okinawa; was across 11 months; held
the rank of fireman first class.

April 18, 1944; sent to ETO Jan. 19, 1945; fought in battle of the Rhine;
