LAMB, JOHN BARTLETT
John Bartlett Lamb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin W. Lamb, entered the
Army Air Corps Jan. 1, 1942; left for ETO in March, 1944; completed 70
missions as P-38 pilot; awarded DFC, Air Medal with seven clusters; killed
in action in Germany April 17, 1945; awarded Purple Heart posthumously.

LANCASTER, ROBERT E.
Robert E. Lancaster, son of Lige Lancaster, was inducted into the Army
in February, 1945; trained at Camp Hood and Fort Ord, Calif.; was sent
overseas in August, 1945; spent 13 months in the Pacific Theater of Operations
to date; holds the rank of sergeant.

LANCASTER, VIRGIL K.
Virgil K. Lancaster, son of Lige Lancaster, was inducted into the Army
June 29. 1942; trained at Camp Carson, Colo., and Camp Butner, N. C.; was
sent overseas Jan. 10, 1945; fought in battles of Central Europe and Rhineland;
holds the rank of staff sergeant.

LANGSTON, RALPH V.
Ralph V. Langston, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Langston, was inducted
into the Army Nov. 10, 1939; sailed overseas in September 1944; spent 21
months in the Pacific Theater of Operations; discharged as master sergeant;
re-enlisted; now stationed in Hawaii.

LARIMORE, CECIL
Cecil Larimore, son of G. W. Larimore, entered the Army June 5, 1944;
trained at Camp Hood; sailed for ETO in November, 1944; fought in Northern
France, Ardennes and Central Europe: awarded the Purple Heart for wounds
received in action; is private first class.

LAUGHLIN, JACK RAYMOND
Jack Raymond Laughlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Laughlin, entered
the Army Sept. 8, 1944; trained at Camp Hood: sailed overseas Feb. 12,
1945; fought on Ryukyus; was attached to 3004th Quartermaster Bakery Company;
spent 17 months overseas; discharged as corporal.

LAUGHLIN, JAMES GRAY
James Gray Laughlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Laughlin, was inducted
into the Navy May 14, 1944; sailed overseas in September, 1944; fought
at Okinawa and Iwo Jima; served with Fifth and Seventh Fleets; spent 15
months overseas; discharged as coxswain.

LAWS, CHARLES B.
Charles B. Laws, son of Mrs. Beatrice Laws, was inducted into the Army
Nov. 6, 1942; received his training at Schofield Barracks; sailed overseas
on Nov. 20, 1942; spent 18 months in the South Pacific; was attached to
a Veterinary Station; discharged in April 1944.

LAWS, CLARENCE D.
Clarence D. Laws, son of Mrs. Beatrice Laws, was inducted into the
Army- in February, 1942; trained at Camp Barkeley, Fort Ord, Calif., and
Fort Lewis, Wash.; sailed overseas in September, 1942; spent 27 months
in the Pacific; was attached to the Medical Corps; discharged.

LAWS, GRADY F.
Grady F. Laws, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Laws, entered the Army in
1943; trained at Camp Roberts and Fort Ord, Calif.; sailed for Pacific
in October, 1943; fought on Bougainville and Philippines with 182nd Americal
Division; spent 28 months overseas; is private first class.

LAYTON, DAVID DYE, JR.
David Dye Layton, Jr., son of Mrs. Callie Layton, entered the Navy
Aug. 1, 1944; trained in California; sailed overseas in September, 1945;
spent eight months in the Pacific; was attached to an aviation ordnance
unit; held the rank of seaman first class when discharged on June 29, 1946.

LOCKHART, HENRY L.
Henry L. Lockhart, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Lockhart, was inducted
into the Army in February, 1943; received training at Camp Barkeley; sailed
for Pacific in August, 1944; fought on New Guinea, Luzon, Okinawa; spent
19 months overseas; holds the rank of sergeant.

LOVE, LUCIEN
Lucien Love, son of Lon H. Love, entered the Army Feb. 12, 1941; sailed
to ETO June 16, 1944; fought in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland
and Central Europe with 28th Infantry Division; awarded Purple Heart; held
rank of sergeant when discharged.

LOVE, MOODY A.
Moody A. Love, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Love, entered the Coast Guard
Sept. 1, 1942; sailed overseas Sept. 25, 1943; served in North Atlantic
and Iceland; was attached to USS Dearborn; held the rank of fireman first
class when discharged on Oct. 27, 1945.

LYNCH, LEON O.
Leon O. Lynch, son of J. L. Lynch, entered the Army Air Corps Jan.
28, 1942; trained at Good-fellow Field; left for Pacific May 28, 1945;
fought on Luzon, Okinawa and Formosa; was attached to the Fifth Air Force;
discharged as staff sergeant in January 1946.
