"Folks don't visit like they used to.  We'd ride maybe 20 miles to see a friend, and then stay a week, have a big dance and barbecue.  Telephones are handy, but they make you selfish.  I've seen people drive 25 miles twice a week to see a picture show who won't walk a block to visit a friend.  It doesn't make sense.  Ranchers have certainly improved their cattle from the stringly longhorns we used to have, but sometimes I think mankind isn't improving itself."  ...
