Coleman 20 - Wall 21
Wall stays solid, foils OT attempt
Four quarters and an overtime were barely enough. On the final play of the first overtime, Coleman's Austin Buzzard connected with Jacob Morrison on a fourth and long play to make the score 21-20. The Bluecats attempted a do-or-die two-point conversion and were stopped at the goal line. The stop gave Wall a 21-20 victory in Coleman on Friday, lifting the Hawks to 2-0 on the season. Wall struck first in the overtime period when Zach McCormick caught a 25-yard pass from Matt Mills, making the score 21-14 after the Seth Dunham extra point. Mills factored in all three of Wall's touchdowns. He connected with Jake Halfmann on a 59-yard pass early in the first quarter to make it 7-0. He gave Wall a 14-0 lead when he rushed into the end zone on a 3-yard carry midway through the second quarter. Coleman struck back with a pair of three-yard rushing touchdowns in the second half to tie the score and force the overtime.
