Coleman Man Killed in Jones County Crash
Emmett
Lavell Brown, 27, from Comal Street in Coleman, was killed in a one
vehicle rollover at 1:09 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, on Farm Road 600,
three miles south of Nugent in Jones County.
According to the DPS report of the accident, Brown was driving a 2005
Chrysler Seibring, going north on FM 600 when he failed to negotiate a
curve, slid off the pavement and hit a drainage culvert causing the
vehicle to flip onto its top. The wreck is being investigated by DPS
Trooper Vernon Davis.

Emmett Lavell Brown passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the age of 27 after a fatal car accident. Service will be held at
Truevine Baptist Church at 11:00am Saturday, January 5, 2008. Reverend
James Anderson officiating. Burial in the Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, at Baker-Kirk Mortuary, 810 E. 2nd Street, Coleman.
Emmett Lavell was born on October 9, 1980 in Brownwood to the parents
of Doris Jean and Tommy Larkins of Pioneer, Texas. Emmett Lavell was a
graduate of Coleman High and participated in football, basketball and
baseball. He was employed with Central Basin Oil Investments Inc. of
Irving.

leaves to cherish his memory a devoted family, his parents; two
sisters, Charlene and husband Samax Randolph of Anna, Texas and
Courtney Larkin of Pioneer, Texas; his fiancé, Angie Finley of Coleman;
two daughters, Carmelia Kincaid of Novice and Sierra Brown of Coleman;
grandparents, Emmett and Mary Ann Payne of Coleman; great-great
grandfather, David Jackson of Coleman; one aunt, Kimala Sampson of
Warrick, Rhode Island; cousins, Na'Tayla Payne of Warrick, Rhode Island
and Bridgette Padgitt of Austin, Texas; and a host of aunts and uncles
and many, many relatives and friends.
