20th Anniversity Class Reunion September 17 - 18, 2004 The reunion planning committee, made up of Jody Barr, Cathy Caldwell Allen, Candy Bowles Herring, Wilson Jones, Berry Phillips, John Mark Weatherred, put together a great reunion weekend of September 17-18, 2004. It was a weekend full of nostalgia and the rekindling of the friendships that made the CHS Class of 1984 special. On Friday, September 17, 2004, many of the class attended the Bluecats homecoming football game versus Hamilton at Hufford Field together. Some had not been back to the stadium since watching their bi-district championship football team play there. Although the names in the program were different, it was fun to get together again and root for the old Bluecat team. On Saturday, beginning at 9:00 a.m., there was registration at the Coleman Country Club, with a golf scramble for those who wanted to participate. The scramble was a “best ball” format, so that good and bad players alike will have a great time. Some who did not play golf, walked or road around in golf carts and teased the scramble participants. At 12:30 p.m., the group met at the Coleman City Park for a catered lunch. The kids (and parents) played and ran around, while others caught up on old times. A number of parents made it to the reunion, so we included them in the lunch. Later that afternoon, the group met at the Lucky Star Lodge (formerly known as the Gallery Restaurant), which is on the 84 Bypass. Dinner was held at the Lodge, and then the class’ own Leo Stallworth, news anchor and reporter at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, served as master of ceremonies for the evening’s program. There was much socializing, recognizing classmates, and handing out a few “awards.” There was a slide show that proved that they really have come a long way together. On Sunday morning, Jody Barr took a few hunters on a dove hunt.
All had a great time and hope even more will attend the reunion in 2009.
