Joe Copeland, age 40, passed away December 11, 2004 after a courageous battle against lymphoma.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday, December 16, 2004) at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 820 E. Wintergreen Rd. in Cedar Hill. 
Joe was born December 17, 1963.  He served on the Dallas Police Department for more than 20 years, most of which he served in the traffic division as a motor jock.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary; his four sons, Caleb, Josiah, Aaron and Nathaniel; and his baby daughter, Martha.  He is also survived by his father, Sammy Carter; dad Clenton Copeland; mother, Joyce Copeland; a brother, Chad Copeland; a sister, Jill (Copeland) Holland; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
