Bill J. Chapman, age 50, of Gainesville, Texas died Thursday, June 11, 1998 at Gainesville Memorial Hospital.  A private family service will be scheduled at a later date followed by interment at Granbury Cemetery.  Arrangements were by Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury, Texas.

Mr. Chapman was born in Coleman County, Texas and had lived in Gainesville for ten months.

Survivors include his mother and step-dad, Iva Lee Hendrick Smith and Dub Smith of Granbury; a brother, Richard Chapman of Oskaloosa, Kansas; a sister, Margaret "Susie" Long of Granbury; three nephews, a niece, a great-nephew; several cousins and friends.
