T. L. Slimp, Jr., age 53, of Corsicana, Texas, formerly of Paradise, Texas, died Thursday, February 26, 1998 in Corsicana, after a sudden illness.  Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday in Cottondale Baptist Church (near Paradise) with the Rev. Charles Pugh officiating.  Burial will be in Cottondale Cemetery, under the direction by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

He was born October 23, 1944 in Crane, Texas to T. L., Sr. and Cassie Brown Slimp.  He attended school in Athens and Coleman.  On September 22, 1980, he married Elizabeth Massingale in Decatur, Texas.  Mr. Slimp was a member of Cottondale Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Slimp of Corsicana; two daughters, Tracey Chalupa of Venus, Texas and Shanna Parvin of Abilene; two stepchildren; his mother, Cassie Slimp of Paradise; one brother, Bill Slimp of Arlington; two sisters, Louella (Mrs. Grady) Boyd of Lake Brownwood and Cathy (Mrs. Dan) Chaney of Ben Wheeler; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. T. L. Slimp, Sr. in 1973.
