Morris Sowell - 1964

Morris Hughes "Bubba" Sowell, age 50, of Taos, New Mexico, died Friday, April 7, 1995 at a Santa Fe hospital.  Memorial services were held in Taos.

Morris Sowell was born March 2, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Dr. M. O. and Jean Millard Sowell.  He grew up in Coleman, graduated from Coleman High School and attended Texas A&M and West Texas State University.  He had lived in Taos for about 20 years, was a jeweler and a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Dr. M. O. and Mary Sowell of Coleman; his mother, Jean Sowell of Amarillo; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha and Brazos Varisco of Bryan; Patricia and James Brown of Panhandle, Texas; Julie Sowell of Taos; four nieces, Lara Varisco of Bryan, Lezlie Pinto of Dallas, Jennifer Brown of Panhandle and Angela Purvines of Leotta, Kansas; and two nephews, Joe Varisco II and Brazos Varisco, both of Bryan.
