GRAPEVINE MINI-REUNION 2000!
May 21, 2000

While locating folks from Coleman High School nifty Class of 1960 in preparation for our Fabulous 40th Reunion ~ Year 2000, we were amazed to find about 20 of the class living in the Dallas - Fort Worth geographic area.

Since socializing in the presence of food seems to be a common denominator, we proceeded from there:  Barbara (Moore) Winter said, "Let's eat!" and Ann Jones McDorman Cleghorn said, "Where?"

Ann graciously organized the first get together for May 21 at Logan's restaurant in Grapevine, and 25 folks showed up (+ 1 grandchild - Peggy had to show off!)  Stanley Tubbs and Pat (Blake) & Leroy Melrose came all the way from Oklahoma!  Now Barbara is putting together a second meeting for the end of July.

The best part of the event was that everyone had a great time visiting and we all went home with hoarse throats!  (Take this as a warning - you've got to start working out the vocal chords before the BIG EVENT - REUNION TIME!  Practice in the shower, on the way to work, talking to your dog - whatever!  Just get in shape because there will be so much talking and laughing and visiting that your head will spin!)

NOW HEAR THIS LOUD AND CLEAR:  ANYONE WHO HAPPENS TO BE ABLE TO BE IN THE DFW AREA IS WELCOME TO COME.  We intend this to be an ongoing event, so all you have to do is find out from one of us when and where the next one will be - in this case, July 30. Barbara has reserved a room at the Saltgrass Restaurant in Arlington, 2-5 PM. (The rule is, if you do the work, you get to pick the place.) So let her know if you plan to be wandering by and she will send you an invite.

The following photos were made by Weston Winter, Barbara's husband (THANKS, WES!).  We thought you'd like to see that everyone still looks the same (sort of) and sounds the same (although you can't see that.)  There is a little more gray hair, a few more lines (from smiling a lot), and maybe a little more in general.
