Floyd Franklin Bowers, 65

Floyd Franklin Bowers, age 65, of Bangs passed away in Brownwood on Thursday, February 26, 2004.  Funeral services were held at 11 a. m. Saturday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Smith of Heartland Church officiating.  Interment followed in the Zephyr Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Floyd was born October 12, 1938 in Coleman to John Henry Sr. and Claudia Smith Bowers.  He married Beverly Morris on June 25, 1963 in Brownwood.  He had been a resident of Bangs since 1971.  He was a faithful member of Heartland Church, serving in any area where he was needed.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Beverly Bowers of Bangs; two daughters, Gwen Stone and her husband, Michael, of Brownwood and Cristy Chambers and her husband, Darrin of May; one son, Toby Bowers and his wife, Misty, of Early; two brothers, Foster Bowers and his wife, Dean, of Hornbeck, Louisiana and Roger Bowers and his wife, Joy, of Friendswood; four sisters, Margie Crane of Coleman, Pat Smith and husband, Lonnie of Hemphill, Jane Speers of Angleton, and Geraldine Mitchell and husband, Osie, of Coleman; seven grandchildren, Sheldon, Mikah and Grayson Stone, Austin and Amanda Chambers and Trevor and Tait Bowers; a sister-in-law, Avelene Bowers of Coleman; a brother-in-law, Gerald Morris and wife, Delores, of Zephyr and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Bowers, Jr. and one sister, Mary Massey.
