Ruth Aldridge, age 69, of Santa Anna passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 9:24 a.m. at Hendrick Medical Center.  Services were Friday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Santa Anna with Rev. Bruce Hess officiating.  Interment followed at the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Ruth was born October 2, 1935 in Coleman County to the late Ottis L. and Floy M. Dillard Havner.  She was reared in Coleman County graduating from Coleman High School.  On January 25, 1953 Ruth married Walter Douglas "Dub" Aldridge in Coleman and they had celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.  They lived in Kermit from 1953 until 1967 moving back to Santa Anna where she had since resided.  Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church and Dorcas Sunday School Class.  She had owned and operated the Sewing Basket in Santa Anna and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, W. D. "Dub" Aldridge of Santa Anna, Texas; two daughters, Deborah and husband Randy Long of Shields, Texas and Belinda and husband Timothy Ince of Roscoe, Texas; a son, Duane and wife Kassandra Aldridge of Brownwood, Texas; four sisters, twin - Ruby and husband Charles Hosch of Santa Anna, Texas, Gerrye Hill of Brownwood, Texas, Nelda and husband Bob Davis of Santa Anna, Texas, and Freda and husband Dale Purcell of Bangs, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Warren Douglas Aldridge in 1956 and by three brothers Ray, Frank J. "Shorty" and Douglas Havner.  Pallbearers were Jennifer Byars, Charliese Long Castleberry, Jared Aldridge, Heath Ince, Melissa Yeats, Douglas Ince Jessica Long, Wesley Aldridge and Racheal Barnum.  The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Santa Anna or to the charity of donor¹s choice.
