Jane Griffis Hineman, 65 Memorial services were Friday in Austin for Jane Griffis Hineman, 65, a Coleman native and daughter of the late Maxie and E. R. “Bill” Griffis. She died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, after battling leukemia for the past 18 months. Arrangements were under the direction of Beck Funeral Home, Round Rock/Austin. Jane graduated from Coleman High School in 1954 and was class Valedictorian. She was a talented musician and played the organ at First Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Coleman. She was accompanist for the Coleman Lions Club where her father was a member. She graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown and taught school in San Angelo before moving with her husband to Austin in 1967. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bruce, and two children, Jennifer Hineman of Los Angeles, California and John and his wife Kimberly and two children, Zachary and Dylan of Sutherland Springs, Texas.
