C. G. Jennings, County Native, Dies In Arkansas

Cecil G. Jennings Sr., 43, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, a native of Burkett, died June 24, 1978.  He was a retired Air Force master sergeant.  Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 1978 at Jacksonville Funeral Home.  Officiating minister was Chaplain Major Kenneth Warford.  Interment was in Little Rock National Cemetery.

Born December 24, 1934 at Burkett, he attended Burkett Schools and completed high school at Coleman High School. Four years ago, he retired from the US Air Force and moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was currently employed at the Little Rock post office.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bettye Smith Jennings; a son, Cecil G. Jennings Jr., a daughter, Mrs. Renate A. Scott, all of Jacksonville; his mother, Mrs. Nora M. Jennings of Coleman; two brothers, Raymond Jennings of Burkett and Willie Jennings of Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Coleman and Mrs. Letta Vallier of Abilene; and one granddaughter, Melissa.

Pallbearers were maintenance personnel at the Little Rock Post Office; E. R. Johnson, Reggie Hamilton, Henry Stanford, Rex Robinson, Bill Clinton, Marvin Bowden, J. W. Stone and Ralph Oldham.
