"I live a very full life, and continue working -- no idea of retirement!  I am the head of the public library system in Brazos County -- formally called the Bryan+College Station Public Library System.  We have three libraries in the system and with circulation over 600,000 we are one of the largest systems in East Texas.  I married a Naval aviator in 1957 and we have two daughters -- Bethe and Jeane.  Bethe lives in Bryan Texas, and spends her time with her husband, David Blasienz, and son Andrew, and our ten horses.  Jeane is a veterinarian and works in Austin as the hospital administrator at PetSmart.  My husband Claude retired from the Navy in 1978 and taught at Texas A&M University for 16 years.  He takes care of our 30 acre "horse farm" as we raise horses and hay and spend a lot of time out of doors.  We lived all over the East coast and Naples, Italy so we have traveled a bit.  This is Christmas Day, 2001, and we were all together at the farm with everyone ripping open lots of presents.  We added on to the house last fall so now we have a family computer room as everyone has their own computer -- we plan to share via cable as our next learning project.  I spend a lot of time scanning historic photos for our collection at the library.  I have assisted several authors this year with providing jpeg and tif files of early day Brazos County photos.  I don't plan to retire, and my staff figures they will carry me out in a wooden box when the time comes.  I will mark 24 years in March 2002 and am still going strong."   (December 2001.)
