Charlsie Jean Parker, 77, died Saturday, November 18, 2006 at an Abilene medical center. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday at Broadview Baptist Church with Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial followed at 3:30 p.m. in the Glen Cove Cemetery near Coleman, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home of Abilene. Memorial contributions may be sent to Broadview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2500 South 27th Street, Abilene, Texas 79605. The daughter of Nettie (Graves) and William Keeney, she was born on March 12, 1929 in Coleman, Texas where she also married Clifford Durard Parker on February 27, 1949. After moving from Coleman to Abilene in 1956, she worked for Timex Corporation before becoming self-employed in day care, a career which lasted 20 years. Later she worked at the Rose Park Senior Citizens Center and was a member of Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She was also a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Durard Parker, in 1998, and her parents. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Parker and wife, Judy, and a daughter, Darlena Wright and husband, Dale, all of Abilene; two grandchildren, Phillip Hill and Kimberly Hill; and one great-grandchild, Brady Mullings. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Keeney and wife, Rita, of Santa Anna, and three sisters, Billie Moore of Lubbock, Patsy Martin of Clyde and Betty Alford of Abilene.
