Charles W. Young, age 80, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Coleman, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at Arlington Hospital. Services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Arlington, with burial in Moore Memorial Gardens of Arlington. Born in Robinson, Illinois, Mr. Young had been a resident of Arlington since 1952 and was a resident of Dallas for 12 years. He was a member of Arlington Masonic Lodge, First United Methodist Church of Arlington, Rotary Club since 1953 and was a Paul Harris Fellow; president of the Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors Lone Star Council - Boy Scouts of America, AISD School Board, 1962 - 1973. Young Junior High School in Arlington was named for Mr. Young. He was also on the board of Arlington Memorial Hospital where he served as secretary for three years; was a member of the Texas State Guard, 1940 - 1943; and retired in 1973 from Lone Star Gas, after 39 years of service as regional manager. Survivors include his wife, Ann Rucker Young of Arlington; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Charlesworth of Burleson; four grandchildren, Lisa Sullivan of Burleson, Cathy Ann Charlesworth of the U.S. Navy, Christi Lynn Roundtree of Burleson and Robert Mark Young II of Dallas; and four step-grandchildren, Wendell Boggs, Robert Boggs, Charles Suggs and Tyndall Suggs.
