In May 1927, the graduating class
of 1927, who had raised money during the school year, purchased as a gift
to all future students of Coleman High School, a baby grand piano.
This piano was used in every assembly program at Coleman High School on
Neches Street, from that time.
In November 1989, about fifteen years after
Coleman High School had moved to the new building on South Commercial,
the piano was refinished and rededicated at the new Coleman High School
on south Commercial Avenue, with several of the Class of 1927 in attendance.
Shown here is a photograph of those class member following that historic
rededication.
