The Leaday Cemetery is located on a hill one mile east of the Leaday townsite.  This townsite and much of the surrounding land will be under water in a few years, due to the building of the Stacy Lake.  The cemetery will, however, remain above water.  A recent development involving the Leaday Cemetery is also due to the Stacy Lake construction.  Three old cemeteries are to be moved to the Leaday Cemetery.  These cemeteries are Gann and Coffey (which were located in Concho County) and Trap Crossing Cemetery (located in Coleman County).  See Trap Crossing Cemetery for information on Trap Crossing Cemetery.  Listing of markers for Gann and Coffey Cemeteries will be given following the Leaday listing.

       A dirt road leads from Leaday and runs along the north side of the cemetery.  The cemetery is surrounded by a chain link fence and is well kept.  An entrance gate is located on the north side of the cemetery.  Family lots may have been separated by the row method of reading.  The rows on the west side contain few graves and, therefore, are scattered.  Reading was begun in the northwest corner of the cemetery.
