FIVEASH CEMETERY, COLEMAN COUNTY, TEXAS
Additions and corrections to information
found
in Coleman County Cemetery Inscriptions, 1988
are shown
in
red.
The Fiveash Cemetery is about three miles southwest of Trickham, on a dirt county road. The cemetery began with the deaths of Enoch and Lucinda Fiveash (see the Lot Ellington grave for more information). The cemetery was said to have been located in the corner of Fiveash land. However, there was a deed filed (Coleman County Deeds, Vol, 56, page 112) March 25, 1904 out of the Brook and Burleson Survey #1 for 36/100 acres for the cemetery from J. E. Featherston to John Fiveash.
The cemetery is fenced, but is not kept up. Reading was done by rows in a snake like fashion. Due to the smallpox deaths of Enoch and Lucinda Fiveash, they were not buried side by side, by some distance apart. Reading was begun in the northeast corner, near the entrance gate.

Due
to
an error in the publication of A History of Coleman County and
Its People, 1985, Mary's maiden name was shown as Cooper,
which was her
daughter-in-law's maiden name, who
is buried
at Santa Anna Cemetery. Mary Louisa Brannon's maiden
name was
Simmons, daughter of Vincent Simmons of
Alabama. This correct maiden
name was
called to our attention by Bruce D. White, a descendant of her
brother,
Thomas Jefferson Simmons.)
