Ybarra Family Reunion: 41st Annual Reunion, September 3rd, 2011 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, October 14, 2011 Ybarra Family Reunion Held The 41st Annual Ybarra Family Reunion was held at the Coke County Recreation Hall and Pavilion on September 3rd and 4th. Descendants of Eduardo and Rosa Ybarra have had a reunion every year for the past 41 years alternating locations with Abilene, Ozona and San Angelo. Pictured (left to right) are the 3 surviving elders: Ines Ybarra from Ozona, Maria Y. Pena and Santiago Ybarra both from San Angelo. Deceased elders are Pedro Ybarra, Sara Y .Lara, Rejina Y. Jasso, Isabel Ybarra, Cruz Y. Gloria and Eulalia Y. Monjaras. A grand total of 368 family members attended this year's event. The family of Sara Y. Lara had a total of 120 present and won the trophy for Most Family Members Present. Ines Ybarra won the trophy for being the Oldest Family Member Present. Martika Ybarra, granddaughter of Santiago Ybarra won the trophy for Travelling the Farthest Distance, coming all the way from Washington State for this year's reunion.
